When I press the multiplayer option I get no list of possible ongoing games to connect to. Do I have to open a port in the router? The manual doesn't say too much about possible errors. Any step by step I should follow?

Sorry but the multiplayer is only via a LAN, so you need to be connected to users on your local network.
