One big map mode?

I was hoping that the game will have the option of being one big world map and not scenario driven. Even in campaing mode its just scenarios. I don't like being led by the teeth as it were and would like the option of not being forced to attack Russia... I would like total control of my forces as it were.

Any plans to have a world map mode like other games such as Strategic Command?

Sure, I could just play that game but I like PC better :) Won't stop me from buying the game when released but i would sure love it if I could play on a world map and decide when and where I fight rather than a branching results based scenario type of game.

Thanks for considering.

Scenarios are a key part of the PG "spirit, look, and feel". I'm pretty sure somebody's eventually going to create a huge scenario, but maybe what you want is Time of Fury or Commander - Europe at War?

Just my 2 cents.

Making a huge map is possible AFAIK, but I doubt the AI would be able to coop. The game is not designed to work on that scale.

Our team has also picked up the Commander series though, the first release will be Commander The Great War. We will certainly (re)visit WWII again in some later sequel(s), and these games are designed to play on big world maps.

I don´t think that the general game design supports this feature (though I´m a huge fan of SC1+2 and CEAW) because you have no regular income for unit production or science (to develope better units), there´s no extended supply ruleset and and and...

Awww btw there are no diplomatical control options...
