If so, i think it adds more depth to the game, ammo preservation make the game more difficult and realistic and DAY 1 FOR ME!!

If ammo is limited, will you be able to control the amount of ammo used by your squad? For example, can you direct one member of your squad to provide covering fire, which with expend a large amount of ammo; and direct another member of your squad to use a sniper's rifle, which uses limited (one shot) ammo?
I am looking forward to this game, Cheers Von Ryan

You can provide suppressing fire with automatic weapons, firing several more shots with an action, but at reduced accuracy, especially over range and dealing double damage to the enemy morale (which may pin them). This also costs twice as much ammunition. Hopefully this is what you are looking for
Snipers only have the single fire option, which is much more ammo conservative, and if used right almost always hits its target, so they use their ammo quite effectively.
And I hope for a long single player campaign as well! Thanks!

I'm glad you seem to like the system! Now let's just hope it's what you expect it to be once it is released (or if you get into the beta)

I can’t imagine it won’t be. I just now watched the trailer and looked at the screen pics … for hundredth time. Combat and enough of a micro-management element too (which I personally really enjoy.)
And Beta would be great.
Question more related to this thread though.
I noticed that in one of the screens showing an individual, it has his weapon and what ammo he is carrying. They don’t seem to match up. So can you carry ammo that doesn’t go with your weapon? And if so, can you also then transfer it to someone that could use it.

Ammo is carried squad-wise, collectively, to a cap limited by the number of soldiers, their outfit ability to carry ammo and sometimes an ammo kit which grants additional ammo that soldiers may carry along. Which ammo the squad has is based on their weapons. Any soldier in the squad may use the ammo carried by the squad, so having many soldier's using weapons that use the same ammo lets you avoid that individual soldier run out of ammo before the rest. We decided to use this a bit abstracted system for squad ammo sharing to make it easier to keep track of your squad's ammo and allowing the squad members to automatically transfer the ammo between them.

is it possible to loot enemy bodies for additional ammo or new weapons?

Laxen, very interesting way to go about it. So if soldier “A” is holding ammo for a pistol but soldier “B” is actually using the pistol – “B” can use the ammo from “A” without the player doing anything. It just happens automatically. Is that correct?
What about individual stats. Can one soldier hold more than another or are they all equal?

axlroselm: Unfortunately not. Instead there will be ammunition resupply points on the map where squads may refill their ammo if they run out.
Xerkis: Almost like that. If Squad "X" is holding ammo for pistols, soldier "B" can use the ammo for the pistol, even if he have already used an amount of ammo equal to the amount that he he providing the squad. Ammo is on the squad as a unit, never actually on individual soldiers. The soldiers only limit the squad carry cap for the ammo.
Individual stats for ammo carry capacity you mean? Yes and no. Each soldier counts towards the carry cap, but in a squad, all soldiers must have the same outfit/uniform. And it is the uniform which limits the soldier's carry capacity, so all soldiers in a squad provide the same carry cap anyway. If you equip a soldier with a ammo pack, you can make that soldier able to carry more ammo though.

Re: Limited Ammo
Can the soldiers be resupplied by raiding a ammo dump, by air resupply or simply take ammo and weapon off the fallen?

curious, how many time can a squad resupply at an ammo dump? Any limit?
