They will share the same basic concepts of core force, hexes, campaigns, etc but with new game rules and combat models to suit the new settings.

These are very exciting news. I'm so desperate for a new setting. What could it be? A new Fantasy General? The fresh scenario, the literal divine soundtrack and the epic narrated introduction of each continent makes this my favorite 5star game to this day. I would cheat the devil to sell my soul again just for the prospect of a remake.
Maybe it is a People's General a-like? The modern weapons and the updated rules gave the series the long overdue revival. Most units could attack with half their strength points over two hexes. While AA and artillery units would still provide full defense fire to adjacent units they also provided defense fire with half their strength points over their full weapon range. Anyone remembers range 10 Patriot / S-300 SA batteries

. And much I loved that units not only would gain heroes but could be individually customized with attachments. The fun and variation in tactics this opened up were countless. But the most intriguing change was that to the spotting system with it's 3 recon levels (enemy movement detected, unit type detected and full disclosure). You would not longer see everything with god view just because it was in your units spotting range, but instead your spotting capabilities where compared with the enemy unit camouflage abilities. Light infantry & special forces could very well sneak up on you while huge tanks where easily detected over the full view range. I'm so getting carried away here.

I'm hoping that it's the Pacific campaign, and the new combat rules pertain to naval combat/invasions.
My Iron Storm for the Sega Saturn has been waiting to be retired for years.
It is the best level-by-level, core based, turn-based, English-based, Empire of Japan based WWII game I own...
...or have ever come across.

Is there any chance to get a GC South (african theater)?

GC Africa? I thought that was what Africa Korps was for... Not quite as long sure but still huge and lots of fun. And it pretty much handles all the major engagements down there, so not sure what to add to that.

Maybe a GC for each year from 1941 to 1943 with more historical missions than Malta or (Road to) India. The vanilla campaign also handles a lot of scenarios but the GC still have much more of them.

At the moment there are no plans to produce Africa DLCs.

Oh I hope thats soon, I stopping buying stuff after the DLC 42, as I was just so tired of playing the Germans. So looking forward to playing as the Allies, and FYI I have started replying the DLC's. But dont see me buying more till the Allied game comes out.

Now that is exciting news. I hope the developers have heard the express wishes that it not be too focused on the Americans. Lots of other potential scenarios.
