I love the game, but I'm having issues keeping track of my forces when they enter the woods. I'm sure part of this is by design, but is there any way to cut down on tree density by maybe 30-50% ? I just want to be able to see where my units are.

You can use the T key to turn the trees off so you can see your forces better. Also look at the graphics options. There is a option to set the distance trees appear transparent.

I also reduce the distance of trees...the default setting isn't great when you're dealing with bigger units.
