Hello all,

Just a quick message to let you know that we won't be uploading an update this week. We're still working in the development of widescreen support and there are still some things that need to be ironed out. We hope to be able to sort them out really soon! :)

I'm posting some screenshots of the new 1366x768 resolution for you to peruse.

Have a nice weekend!

Cheers,

Versus mode?

I'm wondering if there could be a Versus Mode :?: in the game: You would be NASA and Russia would be played by an AI 8) or vice versa. At the turn of the century(2000), two new powers- the ESA and China- would come into play. I'm also wondering if you could grant spaceflight companies or divisions, like Boeing or Lockheed Martin, to build rockets to launch your probes with. Other companies, like SpaceX and Sierra Nevada, could carry out routine space missions (i.e. resupply space stations). Will/can you work on that?

Hello justsomehobo,

We made a big announcement nearly two weeks ago about a competition mode. Check it out here.

Cheers,

It is indeed, apart from the lighting that is - I just wish the sunlight on the ship and cosmonaut was apparent with some cast shadows, and the Earth a bit brighter - looks a bit too much like its been done in a studio if you know what I mean - soft shadows dont really look right on objects in orbit where they are lit by the sun mainly (other than some ambient light from earth). The detail is very nice though.

I agree there is too much "Ambient light", that is almost doesn't exists in space (well, the other stars than the Sun can provide a visible but very dim light, and of course the bodies that reflect the Sun light in various colors and intensities, i.e. the blue "Earthglow" and the blinding "Moonglow").

The main reason of this is that there is no atmosphere to diffuse the light.

I'm happy to hear this! Aside from all that, when are you going to bring commercial partners into play?
