Looks very British to me, although not very African yet.

@Horst: Good catch. Does look like a British force addition. Thai Police and Bandits and so on do point to Southeast Asia.
However, I know next to nothing about the campaigns there. And to be honest, it does not excite me that much. I mean, the Japanese steamrolled pretty much everything there. So you could theoretically either play as a Jap commander (again) and obliterate the colonial British force there or put up some futile resistance as a Brit. ([nasal voice] "Splendid, those yellow upstarts have nothing, dear...") Both seem rather less iconic to me. Or am I missing things?
Also, additions to the British army could also mean fighting in other overseas battles, e.g. Afrikakorps. *fingers crossed, still my fave*

I agree with calmhatchery's opinion! Type 45 240mm Howitzer was deployed in the Battle of Hong Kong after the outbreak of the Pacific War.
It is probably from the invasion of Southeast Asia of the Japanese Army in 1941 to the Burma Front of 1945, I think.

Yes. It would be fantastic that new DLc could be rather with the continue Japanese campaign after "Morning SUN" the players could choose Rising SUN or "Southern SUN" DLC invasion ...
The british campaign of course it would be too!! But I personally would like to see all campaigns with Axis first...

@calmhatchery: Yeah, I'd prefer another Axis campaign, too.
I think I saw several people around here ask which campaign allows them to use Tiger, Kingtiger and Panther tanks. Answer was always: None. (Yes, Rising Sun has Tigers)
The iconic Battles of WW2 featured Germany and I bet you can see that in sales numbers for Blitzkrieg, too.
Another sideshow DLC in an obscure theatre of war might sound original at first and does not feel like "been there, done that" since PanzerGeneral, but, well, it is obscure. I assume (tell me if I am wrong) that most buyers would be interested in OoB's take on the iconic tank and air battles in Europe. Battle of Hongkong is nice, but just less exciting to me.

Thai Police and rioters?
The police units and the rioters seem like a really weird unit type to add in this game. I never seen rioter and police as units in war game. Civil affairs maybe?

Hey Andy2012! I love All theatres in this game. The devs promise that hey are going to cover all theatres in 2 WW. So for me it doesnt matter which DLc will be first. . If the DLC in Europe will be first it will be ok too!!
By the way: I love the engine of this game , graphic and whole climate . Thanks this game I appreciated Less known campaigns in the Second World War...like Winter War and Sino Japanese war...after this DLC I imidietaly bought the book about the Sinojapanese war ..so playing in Order of Battle is so much fun and we can explore the knowledge about this conflict more and more...

I for one would love a continuation of the Pacific campaign and there´s tons of battles to pick from.

I just really hope that it will be the start of a "Grand" campaign and not just a another 10-14 DLC. I miss the long term continuity of PC.

And also of course that it will use naval warfare to the extent possible. Maybe with a separete prestige copunter for navy and then just sporadical naval missions or submissions.

Would love the same thing, but just Russia 42 "Case Blue", for example. Lets see what they come up with (nowhere near finishing Kriegsmarine), but I am just not soo excited about Brits in Hongkong and all that. Probably skip this one then, just like Morning Sun and Marines.

Russia 1942 will be good but also will be good another dlc for the Japanese forces (It is my opinion) will be more interesting than British in Asia...

Also sure hope the next DLC will be focused on tanks since that is not been the case so far.

Hoping to see the Malaya and Burma campaigns from both the British and Japanese perspectives, with the alternate history being a Japanese advance into India. New supply mechanics ought to be introduced to do it right (what kinds of units & transports can retain supply and effectiveness via jungle and mountain tracks vs. those that require actual roads; air supply would also need to be worked in), and these could be incorporated into other campaigns.

The Japanese fleet made a raid into the Indian Ocean after the Battle of the Java Sea, but I'm not sure if that could really be incorporated. Another naval/combined arms action could be a "what if" Japanese landing in Ceylon.

I think that campaign with 14 scenarios also is ok but the Devs could make much more DLc's campaigns for one nation! and much more commanders with more randomness...It can give the game more surprise...
. For example
1. after finish the MORNING SUN + players could continue campaign in southeast Asia campaign with commanders from Mornirng SUN and all experience
2. SOUTHERN SUN" (for example 1940 - 1943 French Indochina, Singapure, Burma, and then another DLC for example
3. "FALLING SUN" 1943- 1945 with offensive in Burma and ICHIGO campaign in CHINA, and war in Manchuria in 1945 and (alternative) defending Japanese islands OR to make offensive in INDIA (alternative) and even Alaska US (alternative) and USSR (alternative)...
So we vave 3x14 scenarios!!!!! of course can be more it is depend of Devs...
I think that players could have a chance make a decison on the MAP which part to chose to fight with the enemy....

I understand that for the good balance in Risisng sun commanders will dissapear because at the begining of OOB nobody knows that this game evaluating so much...but in the new dlc for example for the japanese it is possible...SO a few dlc's for one nation or one mega big campaign will be ok...for the players
and you see that we can have big GRAND campaign!!
This example shows that everything is possible and can be use for the Germany, British, American even Italian....

I don't know why you are so excited about these Japanese, they might have a strong fleet but they didn't show anything else.
They weren't able to produce a decent tank and their planes were burning in the air after the first series.
I believe everything what was made about the war in the Far East has already been produced and it makes no sense to go back there.

Until the 1944 The Japanese Army on Asia continent was huge and strong! Please read this topic about ICHIGO offensive in 1944 (for example). I was schocked when I read it the first time

I wrote in general.
The Japanese army was numerous but weak, but the Chinese army was even weaker.
Remember what the Soviets did with the famous Kwantung Army in 1939 and 1945.

I agree with you !! yes I remember what happen in Manchuria in 1945 but IM still thinking that it is make sense like in PZ corps from early great victories in 1939 to the defend in 1945

I'm pretty sure this will only be a British campaign in Asia later. At least we get more British equipment to create other European content which is still difficult to do with such sparse early-war selection at moment.
