Spanish Civil War Mod & Campaign (v0.90)

Re: Spanish Civil War Mod & Campaign (v0.75)
Thanks LNDavoust. Got it downloaded, installed, and working. The problem was that it had downloaded with a Explorer icon and I had no way to unzip it. I downloaded Winzip trial version and used that to unzip and install, no problem. Will probably keep Winzip if it's not too expensive. Thanks again for your help and am looking forward to giving your game a run.

Re: Spanish Civil War Mod & Campaign (v0.75)
I have reached the end, until El Jarama and I congratulate the developer a million times. Very well done the setting, historically successful, geographically well represented, strategically impeccable. Great, good job.
Only two objections.
The Battle of Jarama was the first massive confrontation of the war, the columns became brigades and the EPR (People's Army of the Republic) was militarized in Mixed Brigades. The Tabores (battalions) of the GFRI (Group of Regular Indigenous Forces) gained notoriety alongside the Banderas de La Legión, both elite infantry compared to any other unit. Especially La Legión, a unit not understood by anyone not Spanish. This unit cannot be treated as normal infantry, it is not only an incorrectness, it is also serious ignorance. I am not insulting, I understand that it is something very Spanish, and no one has obligation to know. The Spanish Legion is a very unique unit, and has little in common with the French Legion, with which it is often confused.
I say all this because when it comes to making a game about the Spanish civil war, you have to know very well about the kind of infantry that the African Legion and Tabores were. A separate infantry, different, very professional units with equivalent command.
You cannot give the same combat values to a regular infantry unit, made up of recruits or volunteers, as to a Legionarios or Regulares (Regulares is today an elite Spanish infantry corps, the most decorated corps in the army). No one would give a US Marine or Japanese SNLF unit the same combat values than a someone else regular infantry unit.
I just wanted to say this, thank you.

Huh? Why's this thread on the second page? Strange...

The current version of The Spanish Prelude (v0.75) was only tested in the previous OoB vanilla version of the game. The actual post Tournament versions (8.5.4 and 8.5.6) didn't introduce a lot of changes, but i didn't have the opportunity to test TSP in these new versions. Therefore, if you plan to play TSP and havent updated yet OoB, my advise would be not to do it until you have finished with my mod.
Alternatively, if you have already tried my mod in the new versions of the game (8.5.4 and 8.5.6), let me now. I will still plan to check extensively for problems with the newest versions in the future, but the more feedback and computers tested, the merrier
Will there be an update for version 8.6 !?

So how do I make this work after downloading it? I'm kind of dumb when it comes to these things. Where do I transfer it to when it's in my download folder?
Re: Spanish Civil War Mod & Campaign (v0.75)
Unzip/extract in the My Games....mods folder.
Select mod in the game opening screen.

Re: Spanish Civil War Mod & Campaign (v0.75)
I know all the Mods presented except the MicroMod ?
Re: Spanish Civil War Mod & Campaign (v0.75)
I have such a question is there a mod that adds a historical swastika to the Germans and Japanese ? Is this children's flag too funny for a serious game ?
Something similar like here !

Re: Spanish Civil War Mod & Campaign (v0.75)
MicroMod is a new very, very small mod
It adds Wehrmacht specialisations to Waffen SS and US specs/commanders to US Blue and US Red factions.
I needed this for the new Operation Olympic (3 US factions) and three new Operation Konrad I/II/III scenarios (possible Waffen-SS micro-campaign).

Re: Spanish Civil War Mod & Campaign (v0.75)
One of the reasons I was excited to see this SCW mod being developed, and why I helped with the translations for the mod was my own personal attachment to the conflict. The grandfather (Leonard Olson) of a former partner of mine was part of the Abraham Lincoln International Brigade who fought at the battle of the Ebro and other conflicts at the end of the SCW. He died back in the late 1990's. As of today, now all veterans of every one of the international brigades has since passed away:

In version 9, the mod still seems to work perfectly - a very great job, by the way, thank you very much!LNDavoust wrote: ↑Sun Aug 09, 2020 3:49 pm [...]

And thank you very much too, rafdobrowolski, for your contribution.
I hope that the next part of this campaign is in preparation...
Re: Spanish Civil War Mod & Campaign (v0.75)
I just wanted to say, I'm a few scenarios into this and its awesome. these scenarios are better and more interesting than a lot of official dlc scenarios I've played. its so much more fun to use weak units and slowly build them up, and use air, naval and ground forces together in the same scenario. the spec tree is cool too. thanks.
Re: Spanish Civil War Mod & Campaign (v0.75)
Hello there, folks!
Long time not read you, happy to see that the design subforum is very well and still producing content like a soviet tank factory in a carpet-bombed Stalingrad After the more than likely last OoB DLC, I felt I should come back and finish the d*mn work before my much beloved game passed away to the non-supported titles heaven
To tell you the truth, I never stopped working in The Spanish Prelude during this two years, but I did it at a very, very, VERY, slow pace due to the lack of time. Since I wasn't very sure I were going to be able to finish the mod/campaign someday, i prefered not to write anything here. Just recently i have found myself again with enough spare time (welcome back, partial unemployment, my old friend!) to realize i was very near of the goal, and almost without excuses to finish the fricking thing, so I have been throwing some hours to the pc these last weeks and I'm very surprised to be able to write now that i am not that far away for a new release of the mod/campaign.
So, hopefully, in the next weeks I will post here the 0.9 version of the mod, which will include the end of the present campaign, with a total of 17 scens (3 more than the last review): the campaign tree is already updated in the first post of this thread. I plan this version to be the second to last release of the mod/campaign: at this point I am still very open to receive feedback and review from the players that will be considered to create the (probably) last version of TSP.
Said that, let me add that I'm happy to recognize posters here, long time contributors of the forum, still so active: my admiration and gratitude. Cheers to you, pals!
