Maximum antialiassing or non at all?

The favorite screen in a Panzer General type game has to be the place where you can purchase tanks. At first glance I thought the rings around the barrel were the glorious signs of succesful kills. A closer look reveals a very bad use of anti-aliassing. It looks like a low res picture without AA that is enlarged. Even in the smaller picture of the steam screenshot the jaggies are Obvious.
In the video settings I have the antialiassing maximised. My screen resolution is 1440p.
