Any release date for the new patch (iPad)?

Sorry but not being able to turn off the music is a real bummer.

What's taking so long to get a quick update allowing us to turn off the music whilst retaining the sound effects?

Well the upcoming patch resolves much more and is not a small update, hard to give a definite release date, but we plan to pass on the patch for Apple approval as soon as possible after we finished the Steam version, that is due pretty soon.

We're working on both right now and hope to finish both in the next 2 weeks but then have various approvals processes and release dates to book so not sure exactly at this point.

Seriously. Gotta keep bringing up how annoying the music is. Originally this was supposed to be fixed in January. We're in March now. Please please please release an update that allows us to turn off the horrible music in the iPad version!

I have bought the iPad version because a new version with bug fixes and additional features was announced for January. I planed to buy the complete campaign packages. But now I am only angry and will be cautious to buy Slitherine games.

It's ok to release a version with missing features – but only if announcements and promises are kept.

Sadly with game development its very hard to schedule things, especially when their is only one programmer, Alex, on the project and all these things require his time. We're trying to get everything done but some things just take longer than expected. One thing we don't do is release them before they are ready, which means you have to wait a little longer I'm afraid. We are very close now and will get you an update as soon as possible...

That's interesting to know. I know a lot of the iOS games (made by a small team or one man nonetheless) would release small patches or hotfixes to deal with technically minor but practically really annoying issues (unable to switch off music is the one here) first. I think it's understandable for iOS players to be annoyed or even angry because a seperate music volume adjustment is almost universally, almost mandatory available for all games, even for the most casually made f2p games. So it's really unbelievable for a premium app such as PC to lack such a basic function.

To the poster above: the music is fine, but listening to the same tunes for the 30+ hours can really drive one insane. Switching off the music is bad because a wargame without the sounds of cannon firing, bomb explosing just feels so lame.

i'd like to know more about the incoming patch.
my personnal interest is into making same option than 1.21 patch where u can decide to have limited dice rules and can revived dead favorites units.

i hate to have 8/2 chance to win and i get very unlucky to often for my taste i really like the 20% hazard of limited dice

I have to agree with the music issue, however, if there is other music on the PC version why dont you just put that on the iPad version to help mix it up?

Also, I'd love to see the Combat Log make it in, I don't have the PC version but from what I've read it seems very useful.

Anyhoo, great game otherwise, can't wait for the patch!

Alex finally managed to get everything fixed we want yesterday and we submitted it last night. Apple review times seem to be around 1 week at the moment so maybe next Monday.
