With the release of Catalina, PzC for Mac is now dead. It enjoyed just a couple years of life and one, single update that addressed only a fraction of its many bugs. Fortunately for Slitherine, it cost the same as PzC for PC or iPad. Of course thanks to Catalina's Catalyst feature, they could have the iPad version up and running on the Mac by the end of the day if they wanted to help their customers out. Not going to happen.
RIP, Mac port.

Re: Happy Death Day to PzC for Mac
My solution was to install a second version, High Sierra, of macOS and run High Sierra and Catalina in parallel where I boot into High Sierra when I want to play Panzer Corps while I use Catalina for everything else.
In case anyone is interested I created a short tutorial of what I did viewtopic.php?f=146&p=812593#p812593

don't install Catalina.
Its an upgrade made to break older software so you have to buy new things.

Yeah, heaven forfend Apple stop supporting certain obsolete tech 15 years after they said they were going to. That's definitely the problem and not the people who released a game in 2017 using 2005 technology.

Catalina has managed to to keep actual software that is from an Apple subsidiary from working, and not just old versions, but actually the newest one.
Neither Mojave nor Catalina have been particularly good. High Sierra worked better and was more reliable.

Sure. It's too hard to keep back compatibility to obsolete 32 bit. The guys from Microsoft are really genius.

It's the usual Apple policy. They really care for customers, never interested in selling new hardware or new software.

Re: Happy Death Day to PzC for Mac
Another option, and one that I use is Boot Camp. Pretty easy to set up and supports all of your 32-bit games. Much better than trying to run it virtually.
Re: Happy Death Day to PzC for Mac
Let's see here- Apple will be supporting the 2015 era iPhone 6S until 2020. Virtually all Apple's consumer software is free.
You, on the other hand, let PzC for Mac break after just two years. Even during those two years it had major bugs that made it borderline unplayable, especially on battery powered devices. You also failed to support the iPad version with even basic bug fixes let alone support for larger displays.
So if we grant that Apple's a terrible company for only supporting 32 bit for 15 years past its best before date, where does your two years of support come in? Do you "really care for customers"? Or are you more interested in getting them to pay again via PzC2? I smell a little hypocrisy here.

Proline you are completely distorting the argument. There is no reason for Apple to prevent PzC 32 bit running on their hardware. They do it to force you to upgrade your system and that is the only reason. It is their bad business practice that creates this issue. It is not possible to update it to 64 bit. The team does not exist any more. I know this does not suit you as you know trying to argue with Apple is pointless and you think it is easier to twist the argument and turn it on us. I am locking this thread and if you open another suggesting the same it will be deleted.
We are never releasing another Apple product because of their business practice and how it affects our customers. If you want to play our games in future you will have to do it in Bootcamp or some similar system.
