Panzer Corps 1.13 Public Beta

Hi guys

we're pleased to announce a public beta of Panzer Corps v1.13.

You can download the patch here:
http://www.slitherine.com/files/panzer_ ... -beta3.exe

Please note you must have a copy of Panzer Corps already installed. The public beta is a full build that must be installed to a separate folder - if in doubt use the defaults. Do not install it on top of your normal version of the game or you will break it!

The public beta can be used along with your full version. The public beta uses test server and you will not be able to see games in the live version and vice versa.

If you see any issues please let us know by posting in this forum. If you have time to look at this over the weekend please do ASAP as we want to pass this to production by Monday next week. Thanks for your help!

Servus,

there is no german Manual in the Localisation Folders ...de/Manual. This Manual is english.
Latest Patch with a german Manual was 1.4! Please fix.

Installation worked fine. I started Afrika-Korps and expected german spoken text. But there was non, shouldn't it?
Second observation: As written the scenario-name is displayed in turn splash screen.
Just a small notification: the date is displayed in american style (month/day/year) instead of german style (day. month year) but this was also in version 1.11 and before.

We've forgotten to mention that all big files were removed from the beta in order to reduce download size of the installer. There are no intro videos, voice overs and large library images in this beta. But they will of course be included with the release.

Right, I did not change the format of the dates. This screen gives month name as a word, not a number (i. e. "September", not 09), and year is in YYYY format (i. e. 1939, not just 39), so it is impossible to confuse one part with the other. Is this important to you guys that the game follows national format? I never cared much about date formats myself...

Personally I don't care about date format either as long as dates remain easily ID-able.

OK, the beta is over, 1.13 patch is passed to production. I've tried to fix all the issues reported. Thanks everyone!

What I have seen, the open beta was a very good idea.
So much feedback and many bugs I have never noticed before in the game.

I say (as private person and part of the modding community): Thanks to all!
And all the poeple they produces new ideas for the game.
And thanks to Slitherine to bring us the new version.
And Alex for all he done (also for reading ;-) )

So I hope the production of bits, bytes and some webspace to download this version will be done soon. :D
The new features are so good that I cannot step back to version 1.11. Hopefully the beta won't expire before the release version is available for download.

The ghosting/mapping of spotted fixed units like forts and strongpoints is great.

I just played Oboyan/43 East. That is always a frustrating one because the multiple strong points call in air when you are moving. Not having to try to remember where they were or feeling forced to write down notes was great. The scenario played more smoothly without the frustration of getting smacked from a feature you'd already spotted, but forgot about.

Thanks for adding this suggestion and while it doesn't make a big difference every scenario, on certain ones like that one, British India, etc., I think people will really appreciate it.

You deserve thanks as well, because this particular change, as well as some others in 1.13, was inspired by your list here. ;)

For 27. Feb 2013 it will be enough.
