Bug/Mistake: Lapland - real target 11 hex far from red arrow

Post by alexthorn »

Mission: Lapland
Bug/mistake:
Description of target say: Reach IVALO before the soviets - and point Ivalo city on map
while
Game fullfill target when You reach Utsjoki what is 11 hex north from Ivalo city

I think is big mistake

minor: I not know if this was game coded but when I arrive near Utsjoki german army just dissapear (ground army) one hex around it.

Neither of these is fixed with patch 2.9.9. See the Winter War bugs thread about the Soviet Stukas.

I was disappointed to "fail" in the Ivalo secondary objective in spite of mighty efforts to get there before the Soviets. They are not even in Inari yet. (Note one of the Soviet Stukas is helping me, by the way.)

The reason for this is because, while you have the mission hex pointing to Ivalo, the trigger's target hex is pointing to Utsjoki, 11 tiles north.

Looking further at the scenario in the editor, I realize that the confusion could be that Utsjoki is indeed the intended target where as the mission mistakenly talks about and points to Ivalo. I say this because I see that taking Ivalo yields six approval points like the other secondary objective locations, even though it is not included in the list of locations cycled through with that secondary objective (only five are shown, omitting Ivalo).

One needs 40 Soviet approval points to win this scenario. If you can get 36 from taking all secondary objective locations (6 x 6) and you can get 12 for destroying all six cargo trucks (6 x 2), that's 48. You can miss an objective and a truck but that's kind of tight. Those 10 points for taking Ivalo/Utsjoki first would come in handy. The thing is, though, that Utsjoki is too far and if that was the intention, it's unrealistic even on the easiest setting.

So, this scenario needs to be looked at in my opinion.
