Panzer Corps 2 will release on March 19th, and we know many of you just can't wait to start playing.
The feedback we've got from the 48 hours long Beta has been exceptional, and we're sure you will love the game. As they say, good things come to those who wait...
In order to accompany you to March 19th, we have prepared a series of short clips, introducing a few gameplay concepts you will need to familiarize yourselves with in order to master the game.
We are going to post the first three today, featuring Overrun, Organic Transports and External Transports.
If you have questions on these three gameplay mechanics feel free to ask us on the forum. We will be back soon with more Advisor Clips!
Panzer Corps 2 - New Advisor Clips series

Re: Panzer Corps 2 - New Advisor Clips series
I'm sorry, but isn't it a bit excessive that one unit can wipe out four with overrun on one turn? So, I'm assuming then, that the AI enemy will always outnumber your forces by a minimum of at least 10 to one in all scenarios in order to counter this so when you line up the 'checkers' as shown in the first video and then do multiple jumps that the scenario won't end in just a turn or two. Then again, I'm assuming the AI can also do this, should they have the opportunity to 'checker' jump several of your units.
Re: Panzer Corps 2 - New Advisor Clips series
Given my previous comment, I will say I do like the new partial move and unload feature for transports.
Re: Panzer Corps 2 - New Advisor Clips series
Overrun does not add movement points, full strength units are rarely overrun.
Base Infantry strength of 15 makes a one shot kill of a full strength infantry unit almost impossible.
Kerensky can show you how to do it, but it doesn't happen by accident.
Overruns are a mop up action on weakened units.
I have overrun 3 units with a flame tank in one scenario, I had spent 4 turns attacking and isolating the AI units.
It would have been four, but I ran out of ammo.

There comes a time on every project when it is time to shoot the engineer and ship the damn thing.
Re: Panzer Corps 2 - New Advisor Clips series
This was a feature of Panzer General II. Usually you could only kill/overrun remnants of units that were like 3 strength or less. It was a mopping up ability. Experience of both the Panzer and the assaulted unit also played a role. For instance, a one star tank would not overun a five-star infantry unit of 3-4 strength. But a 5-star tank could overrun a green infantry unit of 6 strength. But that was PG2 and I don't know if PC2 is balanced this way or not.

I could... but where's the fun in that. Exploration and discovery of such things is almost as fun as putting those tricks into action.dalfrede wrote: ↑Thu Mar 05, 2020 12:17 am Base Infantry strength of 15 makes a one shot kill of a full strength infantry unit almost impossible.

But yes, he's right in what he says. Overrun isn't something that just happens, it pretty universally takes a lot of strategy, pre-planning, and assistance from a large number and variety of units. But it's quite satisfying when you pull off a combo. Especially combo knocking out encircled units. This is absolutely devastating.
Re: Panzer Corps 2 - New Advisor Clips series
The highlighted example was a bit extreme in order to show the full potentiality of Overrun - also, it was at very easy difficulty, so the tank was dealing a lot more damage than it normally would.turn4441 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 11:23 pm I'm sorry, but isn't it a bit excessive that one unit can wipe out four with overrun on one turn? Normally Overrun won't be THAT powerful.

Late game overruns can be EPIC. Watch your str 15 5 star Tiger with Rapid Fire hero wipe out a bunch of fresh infantry advancing in the open. Along with its buddy, the str 20 tiger

The new disembark feature is perhaps the most exciting change/addition. Makes the game more dynamic and towed units really interesting.
