The Scots have an initial advantage. If they can break through quickly they should win. Here a couple of fortunate die rolls saw immobile English heavy infantry units disrupt and opened the door to the lighter armed Scots. The numbers give a misleading impression to a game that could have gone very differently. Thanks for the game Ian.

I think this is a difficult scenario for the Hungarians. Unless the Romans throw poor dice early on or make errors they should gradually peg the Hungarians back. And here the Delay Markers succeeded in delaying some of the Hungarian cavalry permanently! Thanks for the game Jim.

As Edmund noted above, unless the Hungarians get a lucky break in one part of the field at least, they'll be worn down by Byzantine numbers and quality. And Edmund didn't!

Here, on the other hand, Hungarians did very well in the centre, and not too badly on the flanks. Andronikos Kontostephanos was killed and his Varangians routed, along with most of the centre cavalry and some spearmen.

Same percentages as the return game but 2 turns longer as I played it differently to Jim, but got the same result. Unless I'm missing something this is a difficult one for the Germans to win.

The problem for the Germans is anarchy charges. If they can concentrate, they're hard to grind down within the time frame given. Anarchy charges often prevent them from forming a solid line. I thought about giving them 'drilled' status but drilled superior may be too much.
