Re: Please fix the regular Gettysburg forum
I think I gave a lengthy and complete description of the problem with many not being able to enter the Shenandoah Studio forums here on the Slitherine site... but the only possibility is by accidental discovery that the link from matrix games forum allow us to enter and use this forum. Shenandoah St...

Re: Please fix the regular Gettysburg forum
Explaining more for Slitherine people.... I am in this forum and have login and is able to post this. After that I go to http://www.slitherine.com/forum/index.php And I try to click on the Gettysburg forum ==> YOU ARE NOT AUTHORIZED TO ENTER FORUM! This is basically the status of most of your forums...

Re: Games saves
from another thread here:
As you see, the save game is located in a very strange and awkward location.mboog12 wrote:It should be in c:\Users\<user name>\AppData\LocalLow\Shenandoah Studio\Gettysburg_ The tide turns\ . You can send it through support@slitherine.co.uk, or you can attach it here in the forum.

Re: Healing Units
Seems easy to have recovery text in the combat text window, so we could read through a list telling what unit recovered a SP.

Re: Initial thoughts/issues
It is strange that I can see what units belong to an organisation before they move but not after. Consider highlight units in same organisation or keep the darker hexshade after they move.

Re: Please fix the regular Gettysburg forum
I think he means that if you go to the Slitherine Forums and try to get into Gettysburg, it says you're not authorized. On the other hand, if you go to Matrix forums first, click on Gettysburg there, you will be re-directed to Slitherine and can, oddly enough, enter the Gettysburg Forum. The reason...

The press G hardly ever works.
I very much doubt majority of beta testers did any testing except to check if they wanted to buy/play the game or not...

Re: Gettysburg: The Tide Turns PC Hotfix v1.02
I bought the game the first day from Matrix webpage, downloaded the zip-file, placed it inside the game folder, extracted it without any problem, played version 1.02 I agree that it really ought to be information about game version in the game menu system (no idea if it exist or not as I am not play...

Re: Gettysburg: The Tide Turns is out!
Managed to play a whole campaign as US who won on turn 11 which met The First Day scenario victory conditions. Is this right? Should you not be able to continue to day2 and day3 in campaign? I would love to see an option to continue... it feels deeply unsatisfying to win by taking some poorly defen...

The above idea to feed the combat results to a text file would be awesome for analysing/understanding the combat results.

Re: Initial thoughts/issues
lol, that included finding some well hidden directories... why not have a save game folder under the game install instead of current situation? I try to use the Upload File thing here, lets se how it goes. And it says: The extension wbts is not allowed. So will try the e-mail option using the follow...

Re: Initial thoughts/issues
Where do I find the save game file? I gave it the name saveturn13freeze but I cannot find any file with that name on my computer.
The US Cav is the last thing to move in the turn and it freeze the game even though one of the units is clearly visible on map (Gamble).
Also, how do I send a file to you?

Re: Initial thoughts/issues
I noticed that brigades can return and have 0 strength, i.e. all strength points demoralized. Lol, and as it moved it suddenly had a strength of 2 (out of 8)... and after it finished its moved it suddenly had a strength of 4. Something strange going on. And a 2nd edit... And now GAME FREEZE trying t...

Enjoy playing this so much that I forgot to eat and is starting to feel a bit fatigued, i.e. time for food break.

Re: Initial thoughts/issues
Every time I click on a reinforcement (I am playing CSA) the game center in the middle of the map and I have to look around to find the unit. It would be easier if it centers on the unit entry hex. Cheers!

Re: Fog of War
The pricing of the game at $9.99 suggests otherwise to me, even if this initial version is on the PC at the moment. I expect tablet versions to follow. A real full scale sim of Gettysburg on the PC would be in the $40-$50 range. How could the most essential part of a computer game as compared to a ...

More organisation info
It would be great if it was possible to see information about the Army/Corps/Division/Brigade organisation. Seems to be something that could be added in the Menu system, i.e. similar to how I click to see VP. It would also be great if I could see starting strength, actual strength, and number of des...

I also noticed that not all non-moving units outside any kind of combat successfully recover one of their disorganized strength points.

Re: Fog of War
I don't believe the other Shenandoah games have FOW, do they? These Ipad type games are more games than high detail simulations. That has been my impression of this line. As such, I'm not as critical on "realism issues" as I am with full-on battle sims. Am I misunderstanding what kind of ...
