Why isn't Shaun seeded? An oversight or a slight to Antipodeans?? :) Is that possible. I thought they had skin thicker than a whale omlette. Or is that brains? You need a thick skin to put up with you lot! I should know I've been here 20 years! BTW, what's with England wearing an all-black away str...

It's a shame the Barbarians is becoming a fixture. Originally it was intended to have a Baa Baa team only to even up numbers and IIRC the 1st Baa Baa team was at Ghent and not repeated for several years. That ITC is struggling for teams too is regrettable, it was a great comp. in the heyday of DBM b...

I am closing this appeal. There are not enough players able to make this tournament to form an ANZAC team.
Good luck to all who attend and my best wishes to the organisers.

ANZAC players needed for ITC Lisbon, 3rd/4tth September

I am posting in the hope that FOG players who can claim ANZAC status who wish to play in the ITC in Lisbon, get in touch with me asap as we are short of players and at this stage participation is looking unlikely without reinforcements. Get in touch with me at: dave dot madigan at btinternet dot com...

Thanks for the Arnold and the old geezer...not.

I am trying to get players for a team to even up numbers at the ITC so any practical input gratefully received.

Larry? Last I heard he was still playing DBM but if he's playing FOG I'd love to hear from him!

Barbarians needed!!

I'm trying to put together a Barbarian team for the ITC in Lisbon 11th/12th September. Currently I have an Australian and a Canadian/American. Due to a drop-out I have careless lost a Kiwi but am looking for suitable replacements! So if you're a FOGgy Barbarian, preferably from a nation not represen...

The game bores the pants off me and I am at the point of entirely walking away from FOG. I don't understand why you haven't - why play a game that you dislike so much? Its a hobby for enjoyment not an exercise in mental self harm  Because I still enjoy the social aspect of gaming against all...

Sorry but I just don't buy this. While I acknowlege Minoans aren't a spearblock like a hoplite phalanx etc, surely there must be a combat advantage for men trained to do frontline HtH when they get stuck into unprotected bowmen? But they weren't trained for frontline hand to hand. They would be off...

The spear should lose impact badly the way the POA's work against def spear at impact. Sorry but I just don't buy this. ITT toy soldiers player gets butthurt over rolling bad dice. To be fair the odds were for you: Impact per frontage of 4: - CN have 12 dice at 5+ superior so 4.6 hits on average - Minoans have 8 dice at 4+ average so 4 hits on average Mind you if the CN lose they are at an extra -1 to their cohesion...

Defensive Spearmen, what are they good for???

Played my Minoans vs Christian Nubians. Advanced my spearblocks towards his Bw and survived the delude of shooting fairly well. (Whats with CN being superior bow anyway???) Charged into the Bw and was then surprised to get broken by them in HtH??? WTF??? My opponent, Ray "The Helmet", nice...

Typo alert!
P 128, Mongol Conquest, Other Mongol Cavalry.
Armour is given as "average". Obviously it was meant to be in the Quality column as the points given match.

3 questions...

I played my 1st FOGR game a week or so ago and a couple of questions arise. 1. I used TYW Germans with the early Tercio's and was a little miffed to find the 3rd rank of Pk and also of Muskets did not have a combat effect other than negative, i.e. more vulnerable to artillery. Why? I realise that th...

don't you guys ever read anything on the BHGS website Not any more. There isn't much of interest on there. Somebody should take responsibility and get the site updated. A bit unfair Dave. IIRC Matt Haywood is the BHGS webmaster and I don't believe he frequents any FOG lists. therefore he relies on ...
