Re: Panzer Corps 2 - $69.95 at launch

Holy damn, 60 euros? They are crazy. I lost a great deal of hype with this news.

Re: Panzer Corps 2 Has Dynamic AI - Allegedly

If I'm not mistaken PzC1 also has dynamic/unscripted AI. Make up a quick random scenario with two opposing sides, without any scripting whatsoever, and the AI will make moves. Of course for more elaborate scenarios scripting is also available.

Re: I still don't like the way PzC 2 looks.

If the team will learn from the last 3d War-gaming games released in teh last let's say 2 years I don't know of many 3D operational-level strategy games released in the last two years though. Strategic Mind and Panzer Strategy come to mind, but apart from that, I don't see any "big" games OoB devel...

Re: I still don't like the way PzC 2 looks.

I'm surprised to see such a thread on this forum! I didn't think PzC2 would get disliked so fast here in OoB territories. I know the two games will soon be in competition with each other, but still. OOB's presentation is one my favorite points too. Even if strategy games are not meant to be visually...

Re: FUTURE of ORDER OF BATTLE

So I ask you: what do you think is it possible to implement the legendary PzC mod Battlefield on OOB? I mean technically. The map is quite big in the Battlefield mod, but technically, from a purely game mechanics standpoint, barring any potential technical limitations (due to the mapsize and number...

Has anyone else had success at this level?

Any clues on strategy?
I think a user on these forums, who goes by the name of Kondi, exclusively plays on the highest difficulty. I think he indeed had much success playing this way

Re: I am impressed with unit artwork and detail.

One of OOB's strengths is its scaleability. (...) If each turn is a week, then artillery cool-down is needless as well as frustrating, sure. If each turn is an hour, though, it means so much more. Scaleability in OoB is a great thing, I agree; but in all the official campaigns I've played (those in...

Re: I am impressed with unit artwork and detail.

At first, I think I would've been mad about the unreliable trait. But I can live with it. And I'm fine with how OoB models a lot of things -- well, I love the game, after all. However, there are details in OoB that, I think, don't fit the "operational strategy" nature of the game. Details such as sh...

Well, if it's not Pacific-related, anything with Allies on the Western Front would please me! :) Well, in truth, whatever comes out, I'm looking forward to it

Re: Order of Battle is coming to console!

I wouldn't mind it on the Switch to be honest... or any portable console. It's surprisingly comfortable to play strategy games on handheld consoles.
Oh well, I'll be patient then.

Re: Order of Battle is coming to console!

I hate to necro but... Is it safe to say the development of OoB on console has been cancelled? (I hope not, I was kinda looking forward to it...)

If so, maybe removing this thread from the "Announcements" section would make scrolling to actual topics a bit faster

Re: Slow in here, when and whats next?

I'm yearning for a classic, generic Atlantic front Allied campaign... Sicily, Italy, D-Day, Normandy, the Bulge and all that... Of course that won't happen until the Soviet campaign is over. If they're alterning DLCs, maybe they'll go for something smaller to go in between Red Star and the next Sovi...

Re: Order of Battle: NOT WW2

About the title of OoB: WW2: I think the devs named it so because it was originally called Order of Battle: Pacific , and only featured campaigns centered around the Pacific War. Then the game expanded to other theatres of war, so it couldn't just be named Pacific any more. So it was renamed "World ...

Re: Trigger repeating every turn

Hi, After testing your method bru888, alas it still doesn't work as I would like, although there's some interesting change. With the triggers set the way you suggested, when I move a spawned unit, another unit is created immediately (as if it waited for my unit to move before it spawned), even befor...

Re: CBS Reports (1964): "D-Day Plus 20 Years"

Thanks for the interview! It's surprising to see Eisenhower, a person, no matter the controversies, who has bore such heavy responsabilities, talking so casually, always smiling, almost laughing somtimes, to the interviewer. And about the event talked about in this interview, yes, as everyone else h...

Re: Submarine Warfare

What's missing is the chance of scoring a critical hit. It was a great feature of Pacific General back in the day. That would really make submarine and naval operations in general shine and add a needed bit of realism. I know OOB is not a Panzer General clone but sometimes a good idea is just a goo...

Re: Trigger repeating every turn

@bru888 Thanks a lot for the detailed response!

I think that would indeed do the trick. I can't wait to test it. I think I misunderstood the "amount" parameters. I thought it would choose 2 triggers at random in the folder, but it actually choses 2 between all the triggers or folders listed.

Trigger repeating every turn

Hi, I'm working on a scenario USA vs Germany, where both sides are granted 2 random units everyday. I think this would make for interesting situation where the player has to make do with what they have at hand. To achieve the spawning of the 2 random units per turn, I have a trigger folder for each ...

Re: what specs on my PC will i need for PZ2

8GB of memory is a lot for a turn-based game...

And I fear the all-AI-units-move-at-the-same-time feature will hardpress my midrange CPU lol, which is too bad because this feature looks both cool and useful
