Re: Blitzkrieg dlc - Is this "normal" difficult level?

My recommendation for beginners is the Morning Rise campaign. I haven't finished it, but so far it's the only one besides U.S. Pacific where I'm able to actually save requisition points and maintain a decent stock of reserve troops beyond what I need to field to fill up my army cap for a particular ...

Re: Blitzkrieg dlc - Is this "normal" difficult level?

I tried a couple different battles on the II setting and was disappointed to see that there's a hard-scaler applied to enemy health, which is capped at 8 (fortresses, etc., are also scaled to compensate). A couple things bother me about the difficulty of OOB, most importantly that progression is str...

Re: Blitzkrieg dlc - Is this "normal" difficult level?

Time out--the second difficulty level (varies in title between Lt and Capt by campaign) is the 'normal' / balanced setting? I've always played on the third, under the assumption it would follow the Panzer Corps pattern of "Colonel" being the setting with no statistical or force advantages ...

Re: Blitzkrieg Warsaw

I had to replay this scenario a couple times and definitely noticed there's some oddity around that objective. It's not really based on whether or not the Poles are actively attempting to push south--they will often keep trying even after that triggers. I have a suspicion that it gets accomplished w...

Historical Wehrmacht / SS unit name generator

Take your Order of Battle campaign to the next level with... actual orders of battle! Well, not exactly--but this old tool may be the next-best thing: http://panzercorps.worldwar2.ro/unit_name_generator.php Originally developed for Panzer Corps, this will automatically generate historical unit names...

Re: Bridge blowing

I wouldn't mind seeing tac or strat bombers get the ability to target bridges with a 25-50% chance of destruction... the restriction on engineers blowing when an enemy unit is adjacent makes it really difficult to include bridge blowing in a viable defense-in-depth strategy. Especially because engin...

Re: LOW FRAME RATE DURING AI TURN

I noticed that applying hard throttling via ProcessLasso leads to lower framerates at all times but more consistent performance during the AI turn. Limiting the game .exe to three cores had no discernible impact. There are some other tweaks I didn't get around to trying, but I'd definitely be down t...

Re: LOW FRAME RATE DURING AI TURN

I'm relatively sure it's a CPU bottleneck issue. I have exactly the same problem. Not strictly speaking unplayable, but certainly enjoyable to watch the AI turn play through. I use a program called ProcessLasso to monitor and tweak performance, during the AI turn OOB spikes to 100% across all 4 core...

Re: Campaign Battles Ending early?

I just had the mission "Escorting the Helpless" end early, enemy units were still active and the armed civilians had not yet reached the victory hexes.

Re: [MOD Vanilla++] Download, Searching members for a small

Thank you! Nice to hear. I was a member of the "Ostfront" team. Do you know this mod? Nope, I haven't played any Panzer Corps mods (other than the Unit Name Generator) because I have the iPad version. Definitely heard it's one of the better ones out there , I've thought about buying the P...

Re: [MOD Vanilla++] Download, Searching members for a small

I have been enjoying this on Challenging difficulty, it is much trickier than the base game. Conservation of forces is important and there's some nice risk/reward dynamics, similar to the Panzer Corps campaign--"Should I risk it all and go for Moscow in 10 turns? Or play it safe?" I am con...

Re: Unit Sounds: a feeling of déjà vu

Oh wow I had no idea Slitherine owned the CC license now. The sounds really do fit perfectly for a tactical TBS. I'm glad you didn't keep the M1 Garand effect from CC for American infantry, hearing that same three-shot sound clip nearly continuously for entire battles drove me crazy. Anyway good wor...

Unit Sounds: a feeling of déjà vu

I've been playing Battle Academy on the iPad and I can honestly say that it is the best game on that platform. I spent $50 or so on it, which is probably about 1/4 of all the money I've spent on apps, ever--but it's so good that I didn't even think twice about buying the three DLC campaigns after pl...
