Re: Fiction Book Recommendations
As above, Eagle in the Snow, plus Alfred Duggan Novels. For the period covered by the game currently I suggest ... As a taster for what is most likely to be included in the upcoming DLC, "Knight with Armour" by Alfred Duggan. I think it was his first book. When I read it as a lad it start...

Re: SUGGESTION: Changes To Victory Conditions
-some nations rout with normal conditions but only when say at least 1/3 of their main infantry force (med and heavy) is routed. That would be very faction dependent, but could help with the issue where the core of a mostly infantry army is still intact, but because their skirmishers and other ligh...

Re: Not authorized for SC:WAW forum
Thankyou both, zakblood and VPaulus.
Although I've merged my accounts I still get the same error.
However the suggestion to go to the Matrix forum directly works - good enough for me
cheers!

Not authorized for SC:WAW forum
Greetings, I bought "Strategic Command: World at War" on Steam, I went to read the forum for the game here, but get "You are not authorized to read this forum". I can read the forums for other games that I don't own, or bought on steam, or bought via slitherine/matrix. I logged o...

New Allies feature expands lists to over 700
From the product page for the new DLC: New Allies feature added in the accompanying game update allows you to include historical allies in either or both armies for SP and MP Custom Battles throughout the period covered by the game – now 680 BC-1040 AD. The game creates a composite army list drawn p...

Re: Any chance of a DLC covering the period before 680 BC?
Swifter than Eagles is lower down my list of preferred releases ( looking forward to Swords and Scimitars most of all ) but I would still get it. Belisarius surprised me with how much I enjoy commanding the Picts, Scots and Welsh. In fact I wonder how many others feel as I do - release DLC for this ...

Re: Tides of Conquest Punic Wars campaign, singleplayer
Nijis, somehow I completely missed this thread. You've put a lot of thought into the whole system and it seems to work well. Just a quick question though, I'm trying to get my head around the difficulty levels vs army strength... We heal only 10% of our strength in a province with rebels, so any bat...

Sorry, as someone with an advanced education I couldn't help myself, given the irony. I think I've been lenient ;) Awww, someone didnt didn't apply themselves in school and resents people with advanced education [sic] .. how cute. Apparently it us is also my job to provide you with sources on everyt...

Re: Suggestion: First Turn Bidding
Yes, good idea. A group of table-top players I was in used a system where we could bid points for the rights to place a piece of terrain, or to go first, or to choose which side of the table to start on, etc. It made things very interesting.

Re: I'm done with this game!
So what you are seeing is not units miraculously passing multiple cohesion tests in a turn, in defiance of probability, but a simulation of one single cohesion test. Multiple tests are taken using the same random score, with only the single worst result counting. That's a really interesting explana...

Which all makes a lot of sense, thanks for the explanation Richard.rbodleyscott wrote: Therefore dismounting (and remounting) is only permitted during Deployment, and is confined to people who are historically recorded as dismounting in battle.

Re: Field of Glory II Age of Belisarius announced
I'm especially interested in hearing how the dismounting (and re-mounting) will work and what units will be able to do it (and if it will be retrofitted for some older units). Me too. I'm probably wrong but I suspect it will be a case of selecting a unit as either mounted or dismounted at the start...

Re: Sanctus Reach - Horrors of the Warp is announced!
Then no more content for game??? base all in a specific campaign sounds more like a big mistake because limit a lot the content they can release... and to be fair the campaign-lore part of game is very very poor. The problem for us players is GamesWorkshop control the licensing. And they control ex...
