Veteran Hoplites raised their spears but not in melee

I think even if the veteran Hoplites were beaten back in the previous turn, they should not raised their arms in this turn.

PS, they are not in melee with Thureo because
1) the facing
2) Thureo are in rough ground and hoplites are steady.

Re: Elephant turning to face LH

The models show changing facing but actually they are not facing the LH since the banner facing has not changed. The same for cavalry.

Re: The Rally Point (discussion, questions and some highbrow philosophising)

But not all trials are weighted the same. We can't go to too much detail. What I write is just a rough, big picture to explain that the less luck-oriented feeling has its ground. Sorry - I just assumed we all understood the idea that more combat units seems to indicate a single combat is less relev...

Re: The Rally Point (discussion, questions and some highbrow philosophising)

I totally agree with this. If 1600 point battles feel less luck-oriented to anyone and that's what they want, that's great and I have no interest arguing with that. I do seriously doubt that there is an appreciably higher % of games that luck decides rather than skill at 1200 vs 1600. Then again, I...

Re: The Rally Point (discussion, questions and some highbrow philosophising)

It does kind of make me wonder. Can a unit of 240 cavalrymen really ignore a body of horse half their size crashing into their flanks without turning the formation to face, even if they are just light horsemen armed with javelins and short swords? It feels like the kind of thing which SHOULD be a p...

Re: Is there a chance of a river crossing map in an update

Fords are pretty common in my experience, a bigger issue is when a river on the map doesn't have any fords, although that is not very common. It is mildly entertaining when ones opponent places some units on the smaller part of the map and only realises there are no fords after the game starts! :tw...

Re: New FOG2 DLC?

Personally I suspect the new big project could be 11th to 14th century medieval expansion. It would also make sense to offer such major era as an alternative starting module so that people interested mainly in medieval period wouldn't have to buy the Rise of Rome era first. I wouldn't expect some m...

Re: New FOG2 DLC?

Perhaps Slitherine could consider outsource the modelling to accelerate the developing speed. that would seem to make sense? there are a lot of people out there who can do 3D models and textures. But, maybe they just really want a consistent art style and feel that only that one guy can do it right...

Yes, Level 1 difficulty will downgrade your opponent army's quality by one level. Specifically Median Spearmen from average to below average.

The light evades past the ditch then got rear charged. One Cohesion level drops.

I cannot see your images. I do *think*, however, that light troops that have evaded past a ditch can still get auto dropped if charged in the rear that turn.
Yes, it moved past a ditch. Why the ditch can't protect the rear then?

Light Foot back-charged in the enclosure

I suppose the light foot will not get one cohesion level drop because of the protection of the ditch, but it drops in the game.

I've got the same kind of message with Wakavengerf too in our second round games. I didn't change or modify the script either.

Re: New FOG2 DLC?

Wow. Will next DLC cover all the time till 1500 AD? I shouldn't think so. FOG1 had 4 later medieval DLC's - Oath of Fealty, Storm of Arrows, Swords and Scimitars and Eternal Empire. And there were also some minor medieval armies (like German Hanseatic towns) that were still not covered. Lol. I am j...
