Re: Erik's campaigns

Erik2:

I finished the US Corps 42-43. Greatly enjoyed it! Thanks!

Only one tiny suggestion - you might advance the victory if the US eliminates all Axis units on the map instead of clicking through the end turn to the finale. But this is a very, very small suggestion.

Graphic Bug Kharkov AA Target

I've encountered this twice in the first Kharkov battle in Red Steel. I have a target for an AA gun, I move the AA gun but the target stays on the screen throughout the turn and continuing in future turns. If you save and reload - the AA target goes away. Target stays on the same position on the scr...

Re: Erik's campaigns

Started playing the first US Corps. Really easy - until you hit Medjez El Bob. That scenario was one of the hardest scenarios I've ever played in OOB. Really well done. I got a major victory only after having my head handed to me twice. Third time was the charm. Only way I was able to win was to tak...

Re: Erik's campaigns

Erik - I have an observation on the US Pacific campaign for you to consider. If you win Coral Sea and sink the required number of Jap Carriers there seems to be no impact on Midway (where you face very long odds - 8 carriers?). Sink most of the Midway carriers (not easy to do) and you face overwhelm...

Re: Erik's campaigns

The carrier indicator worked out in the end (see screenshot). The Tugulai invasion indicator ended up being off. Eventually, the Jap surface fleet sank all of the troopships. I eventually sank the Jap surface fleet. The AI supply ships ran in and out of the harbors - and the indicators for the last ...

Re: Erik's campaigns

Been enjoying the Invasion of the Solomons (Watchtower?) scenario in your US Pacific campaign. I'm midway through attempting to keep the troop and supply ships afloat from the Japanese surface fleet and aircraft. Hate to bring it up because I'm enjoying this so much and you put it out there for free...

Re: Erik's campaigns

Finished the Coral Sea scenario and thoroughly enjoyed it. You are using a better map than the one used in the official campaign Coral Sea game. The Jap Battleships came very close to catching my carriers and sank several cruisers and destroyers. I have a suggestion for your consideration. The escor...

Re: Erik's campaigns

Finished the Rainbow Plan invasion of Wake Island with a draw. The scenario credited me with sinking 4 Jap oilers (I sank 2) and faulted me for losing two battleships (I lost none, but lost all of the US oilers). The weird thing about the scenario was having all of the AI controlled US Marines in tr...

Re: Erik's campaigns

airboy, thanks for the review. The US Naval Campaign needs some additional work, though. I have a to-do list... I'm on the War Plan Rainbow scenario (meeting engagement). I've found a bug and I have a couple of suggestions for you to consider. The bug: The game is claiming that I've lot 2 battleshi...

Re: Erik's campaigns

Erik - your work is excellent! I'm close to the end of the German North Afrika campaign. Hate to point anything out - but I found a small error that I screenshot at the end of the East Africa Scenario (invasion of the Sudan and Yemen). I completed the conditions for a major victory - but got a minor...

Re: Erik's campaigns

I got the same message in the Maginot scenario - but it did not have an impact on the game that I could see.
Maginot was the last scenario and the research point could not be applied because the campaign ended.

So I have an independent confirmation - but did not see how it impacted play.

Re: Burma Road AAR

This is a lot of work in a short time frame. Did you play this out previously, edit the screenshots, and then get ready to post?

Also, the Quit India scenario is one of the more interesting scenarios in a wargame that I've ever played.

Re: Sandstorm: Another Airboy AAR

Just a point, what you called a armored car was really a Light Tank Mk IV (if I’m not mistaken), though it is certainly more like a tankette in size, armament, all characteristics. Turn 1 and turn 2, saying the ‘armored car’ attacked my armored car. That is quite nit-picky of me, otherwise, its ver...
