Re: Weather?
There are not actually any set-up or weather rules that dictate that it is raining or snowing. The reference to modifiers for snow/rain are in the rules to allow for the effects of bad weather in campaign/scenario/historical re-fight games. In your standard 800 (and also now 500) point games, the we...

Re: FOGN 2nd Edition
Hi there. Sorry about the wait to be accepted on the facebook page. Richard Gordon is the moderator and he is on holiday hiking up Machu Pichu at the moment, so off-the-web for a few days. Not sure if someone else can get you accepted. I'll see. Meanwhile, if you want to send me a private message wi...

Re: Bristoricon 2019
Firstly, thanks for the thanks. It's been a lot of work getting to v2, but many have chipped in and it's been a labour of love. Yes. All units (large or small) are now worth 2MU. As well as being a slight simplification, there was a perception by some that under v1, large infantry units were a bette...

Re: Bristoricon 2019
Also, while I think of it, are you a member of the FoG Napoleonics Facebook group? There are downloads available there (QRS, tournaments points sheets, Army list builders) that are helpful in running a comp. - And good on you for doing so!

Re: Bristoricon 2019
It would indeed by nice if Osprey were interested in supporting FoGN. At the moment Amazon is the only distributor and so purchasers are reliant on their supply chain (and postal charges...).

Re: FOG N 2nd Edition - it's back!
V2 is currently with typesetters, formatting the rules for printing. Hopefully they are not too far away from completing this job. Once this has been done, all that remains will be to check the formatting, make any required tweaks and print. Timeframes largely in the hands of 3rd parties, but hopefu...

So technically a wavering unit in this situation does not shoot.

Re: How often count disordered
You guys were correct.
The rule is that you shoot 1 level lower if you cannot see target with both corners.
So a partially blocked disordered unit would shoot as wavering.

Re: LCv Ext Line Inf Cover
Well, skirmish formation is effectively gone in v2, so the tactic is far trickier. There is the danger that the enemy will multi-unit assault the extended line. Skirmishers used to simply evade and uncover the fresh tooled up units behind. But in v2 the extended line would have to take the assault a...

Re: LCv Ext Line Inf Cover
I used to occaisionally do something similar with LI in skirmish formation in v1. Because extended line is only 30mm deep (15mm scale) and 2mu is about 50mm, you can ram the extended line up to 5mm from the enemy and push your own infantry hard up to their rear. Next turn is your opponent's. He shoo...

Hi again We've just finishing the latest draft, with errata and any anomalies uncovered in the 3 recent tournaments included. We've also gone through your list below again and I thought you might like some feedback. To answer your queries: Pg 14: Troops allowed to assault - "You must be able to...

Re: attachments
Hi Dead It's become irrelevant because units cannot rally from rout in v2. If broken, you now simply do your break move, take tests for friends who see the unit routing or are burst through, the opponent pursues (if relevant) and then you sadly take the broken unit off the table and put it back in y...

Re: shooting in difficult
I posted this on the after action subject, but to copy here: The justification for this would be: Medium range infantry shooting (by line or light units) represents skirmish companies out in front of the unit footprint. The skirmishing chaps are not overly effected by the difficult terrain, so 1 lev...

Re: Battle in the Spanish Hills 01
QUESTION: Why do units drop TWO levels for shooting at close range if in difficult? The justification for this would be: Medium range infantry shooting (by line or light units) represents skirmish companies out in front of the unit footprint. The skirmishing chaps are not overly effected by the dif...

Re: Cavalry Corps???
Something we need to remember because we all are used to saying its a square. No if it got beat maybe it wasn't. (or as you say parts weren't) Excellent point worth remembering. I did think of one idea perhaps worthy of consideration, to simply place a maximum on the total number of dice that can e...

Re: Cavalry Corps???
Rather than make it possible to break squares to encourage charges, ALL cavalry should test within charge reach of enemy infantry in the open to see if they charge, and if they fail, they do. This is the old v1 impetuous cavalry rule, applied to squares only. Much maligned (including by yourself Al...
