I have recently begun playing the game again and am very impressed by the GS 2.0 version. Great work! Two small remarks on the map (changes). Being a Dutch player I like the addition of Groningen. Also perfectly posted in the top hex (ten years ago the city and province tried to market themselves wi...

I agree that the reason must be that Vichy doesn't surrender together with Germany, because it hasn't got a capital. In that sense it's not a bug. The bug lies in: "the game ends because of defeat of Italy & Germany (in june 1944)". + "the victory screen states: 'axis minor victor...

Victory conditions bug?

Having played a PBEM-game, GS version 1.02 the following occurred: As the Allies I conquered Germany at 6 june 1944. Italy already has surrendered. Some stray vichy france troops occupied Rome. Vichy France was occupied by the Allies (except Dijon (i'm not sure whether this is part of Vichy France))...

I'm not sure I follow that. The list of total wins, losses and draws does add up to a 100%, so that data would be fully reported and the split between axis and allies wouldn't? And in the case of the allies, how can non-reporting add the total over 100%. Again, I might be missing something, but it d...

I'm a bit puzzled on the stats that are posted. Why don't the wons and lossed & draws per side add up to a 100%? In my opinion a game not won, is either lost or drawn, but now this set adds up for the axis to 91,7% of all games and for the allies to a stunning 108,3%? Or am I misreading the numb...

I'd say that the relatively big differences in outcome of a single battle, versus the odds that are shown beforehand plus other information you have, take care of the uncertainties there are in battle.

I agree with foost in general.

It might be interesting to allow two depleted units to 'fuse'. If both units are experienced they retain their (average) experience.

Being a resident of the Netherlands, and having lived almost all of my life here, I can attest to Stauffenberg's remarks about the situation in Holland. In my opinion the way the situation in The Netherlands is depicted quite accurately in the game. Indeed, Amsterdam's main port is in the North sea ...

Grand Strategy, most curious bug

Hello Everyone, first of all, I'd like to give my compliments and thanks to the developers of the GS-mod. Fantastic work! And all this for nothing. Compliments, don't come cheap of course ;-), hence my title. I'm wandering a bit about in the game and just started an "Allies" game. With axi...

It seems shutting down the sound effects did the job. No more crashes.

But it does take some of the fun out of the game.

I looked at my settings, but the no_music already was set at "1". Possibly the same problem occurs with the sound effects? I'll try shutting down the sounde effects as well. I presume setting: NO_SOUND_EFFECTS 1 should do that job. and let you know after a couple of turns whether or not th...

Game Crashes

Hi, as an enthusiastic new player of Europe at War (for me: a truly great computer version of Avalon Hill's 3rd Reich!) I hope you can help me with this problem. Almost every turn the game crashes once or twice. This seems quicker the case when I click quite fast around (e.g. checking the stats of u...
