Re: Mixed feelings :(
I see the loss of prestige on even the "development" rockets as similar to the loss of prestige that happens in failure mode in real life. To you, when something does something unexpected it's a learning experience which makes the failed part safer, to the public (which includes your polit...

Bug on Thor-Able Rocket
Tried to open the Thor-Able (sp?) and the game hung.
I was opening the lunar orbiter, chose the not-yet-opened rocket program. The program gave me the choice of returning to the probe or to the rocket management screen - but wouldn't accept a click on either.

Re: Tiger Team Cost Negative
I got a similar message. It seems to happen if you close the rocket program after scheduling the launch, but before ending the season. The error message that comes back (even when you click the "Do Not Hire Any Teams", is that you don't have enough money to hire any teams. Clicking on the ...

Observatory
I know this has probably been asked before, but I haven't found a thread on it.
Why does the GSA mode have an observatory, when the NASA and Soviet modes do not?

Re: How to know which Flight Controller is needed for a miss
I think "flight controllers required for a mission" has been requested for a future update.

Gemini Orbital Flight, Duration Level III
Gemini Orbital Flight, Duration Level III allows you to choose non-human-rated boosters like the Atlas-Centaur and the R-7 8K72.

Landed on the Moon in 1969 Q3. Wow!
Made it to the Moon within one quarter of the actual historical landing. It was in sandbox/GSA, but I did it. I used Russian boosters except for Saturn V, the Gemini Direct Landing, and went from PSK to Gemini to Direct Landing. I skipped the missions with the Agena test docking vehicle, and boosted...

Re: Going into debt and losing the game
I think if you check, you were probably not only running with zero funds, you were running an operating deficit. When that number of net per quarter in the lower left hand corner of the screen goes from green to red, you've got to look at how much money you have left (the number on top) and go to th...

Re: Going into debt and losing the game
That happened to me at first, going bankrupt and ending the game, and now I watch the quarterly expenditures like a hawk - especially in the early days. I hope these help: 1) I never expand a building before I need to. First season of the first year I build the Astronaut and Mission Control centres ...

Re: Ideas for the future of SPM
I'd like the next version to have the ability to create reusable shuttles like the Dream Chaser model: not much cargo, instead transporting crew. I'd like small space stations, which I could grow into larger ones like an orbiting Tinkertoy. I'd like the Apollo J missions. I'd like a different satell...

Re: When did you land on the moon?
Based on what I've read on this thread (and others) and some experimenting, I've modified my game strategy for the first four years: - I still start out the first season by building the Astronaut Centre and Mission Control Centre, and expanding (just the once) the SET Centre, waiting until the secon...

Mission stuck
Soviet lunar impactor mission. I'm observing from MC. It currently is stuck on the "Mission Step Name: Earth-Moon Transit: Success!" You can see an antenna in the lower left corner of the screen, but that's it - she's not moving. (Apparently Apollo's hand from the Star Trek original series...

Not precisely a bug fix...
Two of those "for the next update" items. They don't affect how the game runs, but the game would be better looking if these worked. Graphics. 1) Often when I'm doing a suborbital mission, I'll use the same rocket that I'll be using with the orbital missions - trying to increase the rocket...

Re: Money issues
Basically, take it in four year bites, figure out what it'll give you in terms of prestige points, and concentrate on those PP's that will get you to the Moon. So, you need a probe in the first 4-year cycle, and just one rocket. In the second, you need 2 probes (as well as the extended mission of th...

Earliest so far is 1972, in GSA/Sandbox mode with Apollo. I intend to try one of the Gemini options.
