Re: Unit and unit types review
Keeping that unit in reserve pool or in the corner of the field far from action also does not count? Well think of what the other squads in the army will say.. "Bloody commander's pet, sitting away from the frontlines enjoying a cup of tanna while we bleed in combat.." Besides, Commisar F...

Re: Unit and unit types review
Guardsmen are effective vs ork boyz and since those are rare later in the game it is little reason to keep using guards when space marines are availiable. I upgrade my most elite guardsmen squads into mortars and disband ones with low experience after Acheron Defense mission. Same is true for Salam...

Re: Unit and unit types review
Thats some strange feedback, what difficulty setting are you playing? I play challenging and have quite the opposite feedback. Had few 8-10 stars Imperial guard riflemen and Mortar Support units in the middle of Act II, why you say I will not be getting elite infantry? What tactics do you use with ...

Re: Post Campaign Summary - Share your war stories!
I wondered if someone like yourself who has completed the game could produce a campaign tree - they are always popular. At the moment I have no idea where I am and what awaits me! You can always view the Scenario maps for the list of campaign missions , but I wouldn't recommend that. Part of the fu...

Post Campaign Summary - Share your war stories!
I was thinking of doing a summary report like those post battle reports in Warhammer 40k magazines. It will be very interesting to see what other players have in their army lists (especially for Hard/Very Hard difficulties) at the last mission of the campaign. So without further ado, here is my army...

Re: Aerial units
I gave up on aerial units after my Stormraven unit got shot down by a bunch of traitor Ratling snipers. Are those snipers graduates from the Vindicare Temple ? I dont think aerial units are worth their cost with the unreliable Flyer trait. I rather buy Tank Destroyers/Basilisks for Range 4 fi...

Re: Salamander Firedrakes - Super Cost Effective or Bugged ?
Tu Shan there has the normal flamer. I dunno what to tell you guys. The standard flamer is an assault weapon. The heavy flamer is a vehicle mounted non-assault weapon. The Firedrakes wield the vehicle mounted weapon, so they aren't assault units. So .. I did another unit comparison check between th...

Re: Salamander Firedrakes - Super Cost Effective or Bugged ?
So units like the Tauros Scout vehicle and several variants of the Land Speeder should be assault units? I have a hard time wrapping my head around that... These lightly armored units actually depending on being able to fire at infantry and not be subject to retaliatory assault too. It may not be t...

Re: New Possible Functionality for Glory
I vote for adding heroes to units. We can already rename our units , see its kill score and brief history .. so having heroes will add extra personality / flavor to them.
I agree that heroes bonuses should be small though (+2/3 for Armor/Accuracy stat ?).

Re: Salamander Firedrakes - Super Cost Effective or Bugged ?
Giving Assault trait to units doesn't mean all of their weapons ignore cover. :) And I thought Assault Marines Bolt Pistol counts as an Assault attack. So Assault trait only works for weapons with 0 range .. shouldn't the Assault trait be listed under that weapon stats (Chainsword,Assault Drill etc...

Re: Salamander Firedrakes - Super Cost Effective or Bugged ?
Any chance of giving Firedrakes the Assault trait in the future? With the some nerfs to compensate.
The Centurions with Heavy Flamers squad gets the Assault trait so why not the same for Firedrakes?

Re: Salamander Firedrakes - Super Cost Effective or Bugged ?
Yes , infantry units are better this time around. Space Marine Devastators could use more Anti Vehicle options though (Lascannon, Missile Launcher etc). Melta gun with Initiative 1 is asking to get shot to pieces when not in urban terrain. :? I guess this is one of the rare case where something that...

Salamander Firedrakes - Super Cost Effective or Bugged ?
For 425 Requisition, you get : 20 man with 2 HP each unit , compared to standard Terminators which have only 10 man with 3 HP each. Terminator level armor 80 attacks total with Terror trait Very cheap compared to other anti infantry Terminators - 425 req vs 700++ req ? Is this unit working as intend...

Re: Your favourite units
Mine would be : Leman Russ Annihilator . x3 Lascannons + x2 Heavy Bolter for a total of 6 shots per tank ? Flexible in dealing with both infantry and vehicles. Superheavies and titans are a different story though.. Basic Steel Legion Infantry . Cheap and expendable. Very good for drawing Ork...
