Panzer Corps 2: Axis Operations - 1945 Is out now

Post by saraviga »

Germany lies in ruins, relentlessly bombed by the Allied forces, the Axis powers refuse to surrender

Hi Panzer Generals,

We are delighted to announce that Panzer Corps 2: Axis Operations 1945 is out now.

Players will take part in these critical battles, confronting the harrowing realities and decisions faced by the Wehrmacht.

Image

The historical campaign of 1945 East serves as the centerpiece of this expansion, shedding light on the final battles on the Eastern Front and the surrounding context. Operation Bodenplatte and Spring Awakening, among others, are explored, highlighting the desperate measures taken by the Axis powers and the tremendous costs incurred.

Axis Operations 1945 includes an alternate campaign, building upon the victory at the Battle of Ploesti, players find themselves in a Germany at an impasse. The Western Allied landings at Normandy have been repelled, and the Soviet invasion of Eastern Europe halted, but total victory remains elusive. Another major offensive looms on the horizon, raising questions about its potential outcome and the toll it will exact on all involved nations.

Tune in today to our Slitherine Twitch Channel at 17:30 - 19:30 GMT+2, where we will showcase the new DLC.

Don't miss out on the special sales for the Panzer Corps 2 saga, with discounts of up to 50%!

There's a couple new models and an update to the camouflage, like you can do infantry units in all black now! :) Pat described this in post back in April if you can find it.

I'm so glad you made it this far. I have really enjoyed all of your extensive AARs for this DLC series. I hope you enjoy what we've put together to cap off the historical end, and are intrigued to see what is happening in the ahistorical route. :)

It's indeed been a great and quite the long journey!

The plan is to finish the five (oh boy!) runs I've got now and then think of some future options. I'm now with an uneven amount of historical and ahistorical AARs, so one historical Generalissimus idea is brewing in my head already. But then there's Pacific Corps as well to consider and potential options for the western section of AO, if (or hopefully rather "when") things get to that. Plus there's all the great DLC like Storm over Europe to try out, so I think I'll be stubbornly clinging to the series.

Lucky One! ALL my playthroughs are broken! Missing Heros, strange reserve units, disappeared verdeja ( :/ ) and so on, so hundreds of hours terminated. i might fix it via cheat modes, but well...i dont wanna use cheat modes. so im working a new coreforce through scw atm til i can enjoy 45 ;)

and im not sure whats the reason behind this, i tried out some mods waiting for 45 i deinstalled everything.

That might be the reason. If you accidently played some AO missions while a mod was enabled the core will be messed up. You always have to enable the mod, to go on with that core in a new DLC. You cant just reinstall everything.
This is very annoying btw, I remember some DLC missions that were almost unplayable, because ships were able to turn into AA mod and shot down planes faster than jets.

I did quite a lot of editing to scenario files a a bit to the Units file when doing the Bertorelli AAR, but have not seen any side effects of that when going back to the regular version for the "normal" runs. I use the GOG copy, but then again I also just replace individual files, not added whole mods. At this point I'm almost tempted to get a Stem version at one point for any mudded runs in the future and leave the GOG copy unedited.

I had exactly the same problem, some missions were unwinnable with the ship AA mod. I could resolve this going back to end of a DLC (e.g. I loaded a save game at the very end of 1943), upgraded my units to the original PzC ones (otherwise the game crashes if the mod is disabled) and started AO 1944. This fully solves the problem, the AA ships disappeared along with all other units from the fan made mod.

Why there's no USA siege?

Will it be 1946 or in AO West? If the second one, will it be friendly with this core?.. Thank you.

I agree! We need a 1946 or a combined USA invasion to end the war.
