Re: Thirty Years War Palatinate
The shiny instruments of His Holiness dutifully advanced towards the storm!
markleslie Imperialists defeats Ironclad Protestant 7-43.
The Spanish advanced in echelon skewing to their left determined to avoid a fight around the hills in the centre. Two cavalry clashes developed on both flanks (forward left and rear right), the Spanish with some assistance from their foot dominated proceedings doing much damage to Protestant hopes. Having seen off their opponents they then turned inwards towards the main melee of the armies foot as the Protestant will to continue collapsed.

Next to last turn(14 of 15) from the Spanish perspective.
At the risk of raising the ire of His Holiness, to my opponent, salute!

Changdao's Spanish draw with TyroneC's German Protestants 48-59
After a close and very bloody battle in which it seemed the Spanish barely gained the upper hand, nightfall forced the armies to disengage before any of them completely broke.
Thanks for such an exciting game!

ahuyton's Spanish won against Doyley50's Protestants, 58-29.
A tough firefight and cavalry breakthroughs, for each side, on the flanks. Thanks to Alan for a hard fought contest.

Gribol's Protestants won against PeterThePainter's Spaniards 41:12
The Spanish Tercios, tired from their long march, failed to penetrate the Protestant center, and the Spanish Cuirassiers, meanwhile, were stuck in heavy terrain. The rebellion against the Empire has not fallen yet!
Thanks for the battle

Sorry, we´re late, but our battle has been long and hard fought.
Who are we playing against now?

Ciberpencho,
I'm confused. Have you finished your battle against Lascar for round 2? Him using Spanish and you using German Protestant?

Re: Thirty Years War Palatinate
awesum4's Spanish beat Dilly's Protestants by 21 to 55.
We put a lot of effort into capturing the forest in the centre of the battlefield, and all our hussars and some cavalry around the flank of his infantry while his cavalry had marched around and through the forest.
But the decisive factor was some genius in his army had sent a tercio, a pike and shot and 2 hussars on a flank march. While they took part in the later stages of the battle it was too late to save an outnumbered force from destruction.

Re: Thirty Years War Palatinate
AKvGoeben's Protestant Germans defeat SMJohnso77's Spanish 37-62.
An advance by the numerically, if not qualitatively, superior Protestant infantry in the centre was ultimately able to overwhelm their counterparts whilst the cavalry and detached musketeers lost slowly enough on the flanks to enable some of the victorious infantry to provide support.
Despite the victory, all of the Protestant guns were lost, which cannot be said for the Spanish who still had two intact batteries.
Good game and well played to SMJohnso77!

Re: Thirty Years War Palatinate
If I am correct, we have got one more game to end, to finish this round?
Re: Thirty Years War Palatinate
you are correct. Just KiwiWarlord and Snugglebunnies to finish their game.
But I am about to start the 3rd round, the Danis phase.

Thanks Brian,
I guess that gives you the win. I'll have a serious think about the score and post the standing tomorrow
