one of the threads in the forum asked for names of anyone wanting to be on game credits as tester. I am sure the thread is still there, if u look back on older threads.

For the manual we had a printing/editorial deadline, so that thread is closed.

For the final game we will go through the Beta-testers registration and participation lists and add all names who participated just before release, in this way everybody is at least credited within the game, for the manual this of course was impossible. The newer testers are in the manual credited with a general thank you addressing and thanking all who participated during testing.

My personal opinion is that for a digital download, $35 - $45 US would be fair. I would pay around $45 for a boxed version because I actually like the manuals. However, since this is not a completely new, original game, (really it is just a prettier, shinier, upgraded PG), I don't think I would pay the $50 or $60 for a brand new original game. I do realize there has been a lot of time and effort put into this, however, I can't justify myself shelling out extra money because you prettied up a game that was put out 10 or 15 years ago. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy what you have put together. However, my advice would be to put together an aggressive ad campaign through magazine articles, advertisements, and free demos to help bolster sales, and excitement rather that to ask for a higher price from the loyal fans who are framiliar with the game and die hards at that. I would try to make it appeal to people who might be willing to try a new genre of game than what they might be framiliar with. That's what brought me back to PC after playing PG 10 or 15 years ago. I haven't played this genre since then, and I got a little excited by the beta. Anyways, thats my take. I hope it helps :P

IMO - I think pricing should be on the low end of no more than $20 ($30 for boxed/manual). With this somewhat of a PG redo (simple gameplay style) and with a bad economy, you must keep it real for the Gamers! (and hopefully create some new gamers too)

I don't think I can answer this until I see the final version.

Right now, it has great potential as a single player game assuming that future campaigns will come out at a reasonable price.

Problem is multiplayer. IMO multiplayer will consist of defenders spamming aa units, which sadly would break the game.

If aa units are nerfed against land units, if tac air is made stronger, and if artillery is better balanced (also nerfed as I have noted in other posts), I think it would be an excellent multiplayer game, and would then warrant 40-50 dollar range.

If not, as a single player game without addons, I would not see myself paying more than $20.

I do hope that the final product is a winner - I really want to like this game. So many hours burned on pg1!!!

It,s been a blast testing this, thanks again. I wanted to post more often but was always beaten to it by someone else.
I voted not over $40, I think $35 or 30 euro would be pretty fair for download and would max. your sales,
charge extra for add-ons after you have a large customer base.

I dare you to spam AA in our 10 'special purpose' multiplayer maps. ;)
They aren't as game breaking as you might think, in a well balanced scenario.

So let's try some multiplayer, shall we? :D
I have a few game slots open, I'll put your theory to the test.

Personally, I don't have an unlimited budget for PC games. I barely even have a limited budget with twin 10 month old girls! ;) I might buy ONE $55 plus game a year. I bought CMBN for this price since I play it daily and knew I would, certainly getting my money out of it. Considering the much wider fan base PC is shooting for, I think $30 is a very reasonable price for this game. Granted, there is hours and hours of game play here, and an unlimited potential with the map editor, but in today's 'rocky' economic setting, expecting tons of people to pony up $50 for a game is reaching a bit. Look at the WitE release for an example. Yes, there were many who went out and bought on the day of release for the price they are asking. But myself, one who fits in the niche that wargames like that cater to, didn't even bother to check out the price once I found out it was upwards of $70!!! I will probably never buy it. Not that I wouldn't like to play it, it's just that I can get two decent games for that price instead of one. That makes sense to my version of economics. Just my $0.02 here, I am not a business major, nor a video game company owner, but I do know what goes through my head and a pretty good idea of what goes through the head of others like me.

I vote price is not an issue, because if you decided to sell for $60 I'll end up buying, I just loved PG but I'm also loving this reboot. The game is not perfect, but the devs have done a great job. With the chance of having more expansions, and expecting that also other Generals might come (Allied, Pacific, People, Star, Fantasy), I want to support them.

But for most people I know that they wouldn't spent more than 30$ for this kind of game, specially if it's a digital download.

Price is not an issue, although $40 would be a reasonable price point that I'd feel comfortable with.
