Just finished this; pretty simple compared to the slugfest of Arabia, but good to catch your breath! Nice to have a scenario with an amphibious landing.

The map could really use some more scenery. Small towns, roads, etc. There is more to Africa than sand :)

General level. Beta 3. Starting prestige 5599, ending 2777. Elite replacements for all.

This one wasn't too difficult. After the initial RAF attacks (which cost me a Hs-129) the scenario was pretty straight forward. I've learned to watch my flanks. There always seems to be a few British units that will cause problems if one isn't careful. Fortunately, I discovered them early this time and wiped them out. The RAF didn't really engage after the first big battle. One fighter just sat at the airfield at 3,4 for several turns. Maybe it was defending the units guarding the airfield.

East Afrika
Beta 4
Ending prestige 184
Marginal Victory 18/18
Losses: 1x Captured Spitfire

This was another in a long line of excellent scenarios and also a rather tricky one. It was a nice change of pace to have an amphibious invasion where your units actually *aren't* getting slaughtered by the enemy navy right off the bat. Once my units were ashore, the SS Panzer Division "Heimdall" was tasked with the airfield in the western part of the map, the 9th Panzer division was to take the center and Addis Ababa, and the Italian 2nd Armored Division was charged with with taking the southern objective and then Nairobi after it was added to the objective list. Things mostly went well, other than my Spitfire being killed by a trio of enemy Spitfires. I have decided that my Italian tanks are my favorite units in this playthrough. They are 14-15 strength with 2-3 heroes each and now that they have P-40s, they are super effective. I think I am fond of them for nursing them from tiny saplings back at the beginning of the campaign to the mighty oaks that they are now.

I was able to take all of the objectives, with the city west of Addis Ababa being captured on the last turn with the 9th Panzer and SS Panzer divisions converging on it. My Italians weren't quite able to take Nairobi but with one more turn they probably would have been able to. My prestige was again quite critical in this one, forcing me to forgo replenishing some units in the middle of the battle. I think it would be appropriate to add 1-2 turns to the clock on this one considering that the player seems to start in a major time crunch, with this being an amphibious invasion and the large tracts of territory that must be crossed to reach all of the objectives.
