I haven't a model of Torpedo Bombers.
Thanks to GottaLove88s, we have a Corsair, a Zero fighter and a Val Bomber with a bomb.

I'll test to render a torpedo shoot. For Destroyer first. Then for Submarine and perhaps planes.
Am still hunting decent low poly models of the 'Kate' and Avenger (or Dauntless) TBDs... So far nothing that meets my quality (believable but with a style in keeping with Slith's comic book animations) and poly hurdles (ideally around 2,000 polygons... Other aircraft are around 5,000... Max 16,000 for sure).

Anyone seen anything good on their travels around cyberspace?

Ok, wish list time...

Amaris please may I have a NAM4 file including the following models:

1x Carrier (USN Essex class)
1x Carrier (IJN type, your Essex with cutdown bridge, and flight deck re-skinned with Akagi jpeg)

1x Battleship (the new triple-gun turreted 'Amaris class')

1x Heavy cruiser (will use the light cruiser model)
1x Light cruiser (will use the destroyer model)
1x Destroyer (will use the minesweeper model, reduced in size to keep mast height shorter than light cruiser please)
1x Submarine (slightly reduced in size to keep it about the same length as the new minesweeper please)

3x freighter/tanker/transport models
3x carrier-borne aircraft models (Val, Zero, Corsair)

I can live without perfect animations for now...

But WOW, I do believe that it's time to try out our 'Summer Collection' in a simple little scenario...

I'm thinking about. Many battleships had reconnaissance aircraft on board:

But for 3D model...

BTW I'd been meaning to bring this up but can the remove wreck option be removed? Is there a way for units to float over carcasses of dead ships without having to remove them? I think it's highly unrealistic that a ship can just clear another one when if in real life it would probably destroy its own Hull.

That's easy... Just make the cost to remove a wreck in ocean so expensive that it's not actually possible.

I've also tried to explore 'water' tiles of 3 different colours/depths...

1. Deep ocean (accessible to all ships),
2. Shallow seas & rivers (accessible to smaller ships; too shallow for subs to be able to dive),
3. Beach shallows (accessible to landing craft, amphibious, troops and vehicles only; ie. your troops won't die any more if your LCA is killed right next to the beach)

At the moment, it's not possible to do that, because Slith's animations always revert to land animations (dirt explosions, etc, rather than splashes in the water). Pip has kindly said he'll try to look into it, hopefully for BA2... It will be great to have now we're going down the full 3d naval fleets route... :mrgreen:

Once (if?) we can get the 3 different types of water tile... if a ships sinks in deep ocean, it's gone. No wreck. If a ship sinks in rivers/shallow seas or beach shallows it's there until the end of the game...

But for now, we'll just have to keep it so that shipwrecks stay in place (call 'em artificial reefs, that other ships can't sail over ;-)).

VERY NICE adaptation of the heavy cruiser... Those triple gun turrets really are the business...
Small print, but it would be cool to grey spray the default black 'deck cabling' fore and aft in the skin jpg... so it doesn't distract from the actual guns...

Ok Gents,

Here's the working draft of the first 'The Island' Pacific map...

The Japanese control a well fortified island, with a port and two airfields. The US carrier group, battle fleet and transports approach from the north and northeast...

Please sign up for an alpha test if you're interested...

The alpha will include a full combination of IJA, IJN, USN and USMC naval and ground units... Am waiting for latest fleet models... The map is designed to provide plenty of opportunities for sneaking warships around... Plus a smallish island to put up a genuine landing challenge...

I'll need alpha-testers to sign up to an 'honour code' to delete old versions as soon as we've got it to final... I have to be careful what we do until I understand the smallprint on contracts for our original 3d model downloads... See you in the Pacific! :D

NB. Before someone mentions it, yes PC players will get the lovely shimmering water effects (they're not seen here, because I'm dev-ing in the Mac version... Sorry :oops: )
