BA Crashing

I have problems with Battle Academy crashing on my iPod. It's has always done it but I have since started playing online and it's now a huge problem. Slitherine has sent me a message asking to post this on the forum.

What iPad version and OS are you running? Do you have a wifi or 3G version?

Rebooting your iPad can often help with these kinds of memory-related issues. Having a lot of apps running in the background can also cause problems. We are very sorry for the issues you are having - unfortunately iOS memory behaviour is more black magic than science...

BA still crashes occasionally while loading Game turns from the server. I never have other apps running when playing BA for this reason and never send messages to my opponent because I believe I've had crashes in the past trying to do so and had to replay turns... All been reported before. Seems I can load and play several turns before it occurs again... Starting to get the multiple turns reloaded email again hence this post.

Only solution I have is to reboot the iPad to be able to play BA again. Not so with other apps...

BA must have a memory leak that I hope you guys can eventually find. Using an iPad 4, wifi only model.

We've reported the bug with the virtual keyboard to Apple (that causes the crashes when messaging an opponent in MP), but no results as yet. We keep reducing the memory usage of the game, and we NEVER see memory crashes here, even with the same equipment and repeating the (v simple for some people) steps they say cause the game to end. The iOS memory system is infuriating...

I have rebooted and don't run any apps while playing but I'm still having the same problem with crashing. It has done it during the game and when typing a message. It does once a day and then it won't seem to do it until the next time I play. It did however happen everytime I tried to play last week but was fixed when I rebooted. Now it's back to everyday once a day.

Yes it is. I have the update loaded. I also was finally able to download Rommel Normandy and it just did after around my 10th turn. It also did during a multiplayer game today. Twice in sitting never happens that offen.

I'm getting a repeatable crash on the new expansion. I'm using an ipad 3rd gen, ios 6, mission 2, any turn...If I save a game under the default name everything works as normal but if I attempt to name the save the game crashes after I type a few letters.

Thanks for the details. As Pip said, the behaviour of the virtual keyboard is somewhat out of our hands, but we will continue to investigate if there is anything that has changed or can be tightened up in our memory use.

I know you said its an issue but, for me at least, it's never crashed from the keyboard until this update.

OK things went well with the update... Played maybe a dozen MP game turns over the last week then this morning had two crashes on the same turn (the second one a reload after the crash). I was not using the keyboard so this crash is not related to that - I don't think. This has happened before on earlier versions as well although I was starting to think this may of been solved.

The crash these days seems to be related to reviewing the opponents turn and was responsible for a number of crashes in the past. By that I mean the reply gets to something less than 25% playback and then the crash usually occurs. Only way to restart BA and get past this is to reboot the iPad.

Anyway I got another on of those pesky emails saying I had replayed a turn, hence this post.
