Change City Building Criteria
Hi, so I'm trying to determine if it's possible to mod cities to be able to build a city on a mountain or coastline etc.
Other features seem to have include or exclude markers but I'm not seeing any for cities.

Couldn't find any hints in the corresponding XML's either.
So I would guess it somehow is hardcoded.

Is that true of all the features? I can't seem to see any way to allow other features to be built or not build in various terrain types.

Once again, it looks like that.
I just tried to find out if there's something that prevents forest on mountains because it is not possible in the game.
But neither the Forrests nor the Mountains file gave any clue about that.

Well, that's disappointing. Hopefully the next major revision will improve modding support so more options are exposed.

I think you are not able to build a city in the ocean like in SMAC without modding colonizer unit. But you can build water suburbs! Xilmi is right. Each construction has parameter feature type="XXX", where XXX can be "Modification" for land structures or "WaterModification" for water structures. So you can create new water improvements that can distillate ocean water to produce minerals, floating solar collectors and water purifiers. But the city has feature type="city" which is not described in other xml files. overwrites Industrious.xml from Unsub's 12 Faction Mod, 6 New, 6 Rebalanced mod
