Greetings:

Just a quick heads up to say that the entry deadline for all the Tournaments at PAW 2015 has been extended to January 18th, 2015

Whilst the FOG tournaments are fine, some of the others are a bit shy on people who have actually sent in an entry fee. Lots of people have expressed interest in the various competitions (even, in one case, sending in his army list) but have yet to actually send us a cheque.

Given that we're all a little distracted by the upcoming holiday at the moment, the committee have decided to extend the deadlines to give players a chance to get their acts together in the New Year.

That's because army lists are easy to produce just before Christmas, but £20 cheques which are not going to bounce are not necessarily so easy to produce. And I naively thought that you'd appreciate army lists sooner rather than later. I didn't anticipate becoming an object of ridicule for having done so. I'm pretty sure your original dead-line for payment was 31st December which hasn't actually passed yet. You'll get your money as soon as my employer sees fit to give me mine. Sending my list in early was meant to demonstrate my seriousness in entering even though I might or might not have the cash in time to get it to you by the dead-line. Sorry. Won't do it again.

I outed myself, Phil, so that I could set the record straight.

Perhaps now whenever I catch a snigger behind my back or a furtive glance across the tool boxes I'll know they're thinking "there goes premature list man, what a sad lack of control, what on earth was he thinking ?" :D

Not in my closet. Last time I went in there I found myself stumbling into a snow-filled realm of fauns and talking beavers !

The postal order is now on the carrier's wagon and heading west ! :D

By the way, not being American I see nothing funny about the word beaver. To paraphrase General Melchett, "beaver is not a dirty word, Blackadder!"

Is anyone else at work on Christmas Eve and bored poo-less ?

Actually, Martyn, I was thinking about someone from the Warhammer 40K competition when I mentioned the feeless list.
As I said in the original post, the FOG tournaments are fine, and the umpire is always pleased to have lists earlier rather than later, otherwise he has a huge pile of them to check at the last minute.

Look forward to seeing you in February
