I am ready to buy ASAP and I do not want to be held up waiting on answers to the Steam vs Matrix question. I will DEFINATELY avoid Steam if I can get it direct from Matrix.

I do not really know how it works, but the game has both the possibility to run with Steam key and with Matrix/Slitherine key.

So, the answer for the "can I buy the game here and not be forced to use steam to play it?" is Yes.

The answer for "Will you have the option to buy here or matrix games and get a steam key too?" is I do not know, it's better to wait for Slitherine to answer.

any game released which is also on steam 99% of the time has access to both site and steam version, there is some odd one's that are on early access that are steam only, but rare, this one is both, so steam and a site version.

if you buy from here you also if you wish get a steam key, if you buy from steam, you don't get a site key mind you, it's normal and how it works

I was originally going to purchase from Slitherine, .. however, .. there seems to be a disparity between the Slitherine/Matrix price Vs. the Steam price.

.. like a ~$13 disparity , .. with Steam being the much cheaper option.

I'm paying in ZAR, .. and the price on Slitherine = R 582.99, .. whereas the price on Steam = R 368.10,

.. that's a more than R 200 price difference .. , .. which in ZAR terms is a lot of money. (almost a bottle of Johnnie Walker Black)

The question is, .. obviously, .. WHY ???

.. or, .. has someone made a bugger up ?

If not, .. then, .. as much as I would want to purchase direct from Slitherine/Matrix, .. it's not economically viable to do so.

Sorry, but this difference in the rates is something out of our hands. We always set the prices in USD on both Steam and BlueSnap, and then both companies do their own conversions. In the case of BlueSnap, they use close to the exchange rates. Whereas Steam do things differently, using their own Regional Pricing. This has been brought up before on our forums and on Steam forums for our games and other games, where different Steam users get different pricings, but this is not something we can change. I'm sorry for this.
