Easy mode?

Easy mode?

I realise that my approach to gaming will be different to others but I have always thought of Easy Mode as being to introduce a game's mechanics, get an idea of the story and how units interact etc etc in a fairly relaxed way. It is not a walk in the park but it is meant to be pretty easy and not stressful. But I have been playing on Easy Mode and have had to replay most (all?) scenarios many times and reload many, many times just to get through. I normally anticipate ramping up the stress after the initial walk through.

I'm in two minds over this - one the one hand, I have learned a lot about the game and am now beating scenarios that were too hard the first few times; but on the other hand, the frustration level and reloading means I am not meeting the goals (educational relaxation) for playing on Easy. If I wanted that level of challenge I would pick the harder levels.

So, long story short, what is the philosophy behind the difficulty of Easy level? Is anyone else finding it too hard or do I just suck?

You are not alone. I am proving to be very incompetent at this game. I swallowed my pride, bumped the difficulty down to easy and i am still getting stomped.

Me too. I managed to refine my opening movies on regular but I was still save-scumming like a mf. The real spike was the first Sunken Lands; that scenario is tough. Restarting on easy i find things are still fairly difficult. Getting the extra supply talents are an absolute must, especially for the first defense mission.

We will adjust easy and normal difficulty a bit with the upcoming patch.

Still my pride forbid me to change to easy :-) , so

PLEASE for godsake,

could we have the patch LOL

next map near impossible for me, had no problems till that map ...

... seems PATCH will be released at Friday ...

anyway was able to finish that map in around 80 !! turns , enemy had an insane strong and large army ... wasn't really fun, but when you managed to complete it, somehow satisfying :roll:

Admittedly though, you have a bit of a one sided army relying on your Thanes for protection and only having trolls and light units. Hard to defend positions...:)

Did they mention the patch on twitter or something? Couldn't find any verification for that. I think I'll start again if that's the case.

The best defence is a good troll to the face of the enemy army.

ETA: Also is it a sign of masochism that I'm seriously contemplating starting that map before downloading the Patch?

ETA2: Actually I can see in the patch notes you've made lizards less annoying so definetly downloading that, I'm not that masochistic.
