What do you hope to see added before Fog II ends?
Re: What do you hope to see added before Fog II ends?
i feel 1600pts game's camera moving is not so good. Perhaps because of increased width.

I set the camera to zoom in a bit more on the units. Do you think that it affecting things? As I said, most of the time there is no problem just from time to time.
I do always play with medium sized armies..

Probably. I suspect most people keep the game zoomed out a bit more most of the time to allow more of the action to be visible at once. Perhaps the engine code that moves the camera when the unit is off the map does not work so well when zoomed in.SLancaster wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2019 10:23 am I set the camera to zoom in a bit more on the units. My another little wish is to see the wheel of the model can really rotate. Fingers crossed.

Possible resupply or missile units. The War Wagon thread got me thinking... why can't skirmishers (or any missile unit), resupply missiles if they visit the war wagon or camp?
I believe this was a key factor in Carrhae, where Crassus and his army was annihilated.

But was very unusual, in that the Surena had pre-prepared pack camels with spare arrows. This was not at all usual in this period, otherwise it would not have been remarked on, and the Romans would not have expected to be able to weather the srrows until the Parthians ran out.Morbio wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2019 1:02 pm Possible resupply or missile units. The game already includes an over-ride for the ammunition rules to allow them to be ignored for specified scenarios - as in the Carrhae scenario.

Ooh, just thought of another one.
A reskinning of most round shielded troops where the skins for shields are not halved in their .dds

I would like to see an update of the lists for the classical Greeks, similar to the updates for the Thracians.
the departure of the continental greeks in Immortal fire left me quite disappointed: only "Greeks" and "Spartans". I would like to see some more lists such as the Athenians and the Beotians who give something more variety. Some unique skins for these lists with their symbols on the shields would also be fine.

There's little/no (known) difference between the continental Greek armies of the Archaic/Classical periods.toska wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2019 1:07 pm I would like to see an update of the lists for the classical Greeks, similar to the updates for the Thracians.

That's why it would be nice if we could have shields that can have an entire image on them, not just symmetrical ones because the shields are halved in the skin .dds.

It would be nice, but I am told by the artist that there isn't room on the texture sheet.Latro wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2019 6:42 pmExcept for the shield motifs.Athos1660 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2019 2:25 pmThere's little/no (known) difference between the continental Greek armies of the Archaic/Classical periods.toska wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2019 1:07 pm I would like to see an update of the lists for the classical Greeks, similar to the updates for the Thracians.

The ability to view the battlefield whilst it is the opponents turn.
Re: What do you hope to see added before Fog II ends?
Maybe a bit late to answer on this Topic, but anyways,
"What do you hope to see added before Fog II ends?"
From most to least important:
- a direct multiplayer modus
- 2 vs 2 (and other) for battles
- further polishment of the mechanics while keeping the focus on historical accuracy
- addressing the »lights blocking Fall Backs« trick and other awkward exploits that hurts the historical feeling
- a tougher AI that does not cheat
- more models/units and flags to better differentiate Armies/Nations from one another ( update of the iberian army list for example)
- replay of a whole battle
- clear attacker or defender modus for battles
- inclution for an option in custom battles for resupply of missile units
- rework of how mounted archers work for better historical reflection (parthian shot option etc.)
- Far East DLC
For a potential FoG 3 I would wish even more focus to archive a historical accurate battle simulation (for example more focus on different armour and weapon types etc)
Also a Pike&Shot II would be very welcome

Re: What do you hope to see added before Fog II ends?
It would be nice if the TT Mod became the standard. That would provide the shield patterns and a wider range of Greek armies plus a number of other interesting additions. Why is there a need to have the vanilla and a TT mod as separate entities?rbodleyscott wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2019 7:10 pmIt would be nice, but I am told by the artist that there isn't room on the texture sheet.

I personally prefer vanilla over the tabletop mod, and would want it to stay just that, a mod.

The ability to type in the army name in full or partially to filter the lists during game creation would be much appreciated it.
The ability to select multiple units and assign them to command groups during deployment would also be nice.

Re: What do you hope to see added before Fog II ends?
Steam Remote Play Together could be tried as a direct multiplayer mode as FOGII has hotseat game mode. The downside is that one may not conceal their troops in hotseat mode.

Re: What do you hope to see added before Fog II ends?
Thank you for this advice, I will try this soon. But still, I think a true direct multiplayer option would be a very nice feature fpr FoG2
Re: What do you hope to see added before Fog II ends?
Among FoGII options, there's ''Turn on/off idle animations'.
I'd like to test someday a second option : 'Turn on/off melee animations' so that melee animations would only be played during a couple of seconds before the result of a given melee phase between two opponents is shown. Moreover, the move, charge and throw/shoot animations would still be visible.
(edit) This is moddable though.

Re: What do you hope to see added before Fog II ends?
I would like the ability to remove flanking armies when playing the AI. Too often, troops show up on my flank just as things get interesting and instead of finishing off my glorious plan, I end up aggravated.
