A very good game. I was hoping to gain a point but that rallying elephant on the edge of the board stopped that. I always thought that routing elephants were a menace to both sides and that was why their drivers killed them. Good battle though.

The Uratians surrendered. Even though the battle was early, the Thracian hoplites and spearmen after having only one spearman unit and no hoplites disrupted due to bowfire were engaging the Urartian mixed infantry all along the battleline and winning decisively. In addition, two of three Uratian heavy chariots were disrupted and the Thracians were probably two turns away from turning the Uratian right flank.

Weekly round-up
There were wins for Nosy_Rat (Indian) and Schweetness101 (Hannibal in Italy) in the battle for runners-up position in Division A where the main issue to be resolved is whether Cunningcairn (Thracian) can win his last match against Morbio (Roman) to give himself any chance avoiding the drop. In Division B another win for nyczar (Spartan) has brought him level with XLegione (Roman) again at the top of the table with just 2 matches left to play for each player. Questar17 (Ptolemaic) still has a 100% record of 3 straight wins and has to play both nyczar and XLegione so this contest is far from being over. In Division C a win and 2 score draws for NikiforosFokas (Hannibal in Africa) this week means that he must beat phoyle3290 (Hannibal in Italy) to win automatic promotion. A 2 point draw will not be enough as the current leader Swuul (Samnite) has won 7 matches, 1 more than NikiforosFokas. At the bottom Mike Marchant (Roman) and General Shapur (Seleucid) both finished with just 5 points for the season but General Shapur is relegated as he lost to Mike Marchant in their match together. Challenge1 (Roman) duly achieved the draw he required against Najanaja (also Roman) to win Division D outright just ahead of SLancaster (Lysimachid). At the bottom last ditch heroics from Tresantes (Pontic) saw him gain 2 victories this week to move off the bottom of the table leaving Rob123 (Hannibal in Africa) in the automatic relegation place. Despite having finished his matches Rob123 can avoid the drop if ggarynorman (Indo-Greek) fails to pick up a point in his last 2 matches against Bluefin (Syracusan) and Najanaja because he defeated ggarynorman in their match together. Not much to report in Division E where the main issue is whether the uncontactable MadMaxBot (Roman) will complete his matches or not. If he doesn't then he is very likely to fill the automatic relegation place. Just 3 matches to be completed in Division F where DanZanzibar (Carthaginian) and Blagrot (Samnite) are fighting for the automatic place. All will probably depend on the result of their match together although Blagrot's other match is against random27 (Ptolemaic) who can still finish third. hyme (Saka) withdrew this week forfeiting all his remaining matches but Brenmusik (Slave Revolt) is confirmed in the wooden spoon position after losing for the eighth time this season.

In Division A ConstantinIX (Byzantine) moved back to the top of the table, but his challenge seems to be faltering a bit with only a draw and a defeat in his last 2 matches. A lot will now depend on his last match with unbeaten klayeckles (Sassanid), who also has to play ninth-placed nyczar (Roman). hidde (Indian) has won Division B after securing his eighth win of the season against bottom-placed lydianed (Moorish) leaving Cunningcairn (Arab City) and Nijis (Sassanid) to battle it out for second place. At the bottom cromlechi (Roman) has slipped to 8th place having completed all his matches and only collected 9 points while the 2 players below him both have 4 matches left to play. phoyle3290 (Western Huns) posted his fifth consecutive win this week to give himself a real chance of winning Division C outright. He trails IMC (Ancient British), the leader in the clubhouse, by 7 points now with 3 matches left to play, against Bluefin (Scots-Irish), GDod (Byzantine) and Mike Marchant (Roman). At the bottom Swuul (Germanic Horse Tribes), who has finished his matches, is nervously looking over his shoulder now to see whether SawyerK (Roman) and MikeMarchant will get enough points to leave him in the automatic relegation place. It would be a very occurrence for a player with 3 wins in the season to get relegated. Promtion jitters seem to be getting the better of some players at the top of Division D. Garokan (Arab Bedouin) has finished his matches setting a modest target of 25 points at the top of the table, but both bomber23 (Germanic Horse Tribes) and edb1815 (Breton) have lost matches that would have taken them past Garokan. edb1815 has another chance to reach 26 points in his last match against the other player still with a shout, Supervark (Sassanid). edb1815 must win that match with a four pointer as he was beaten by Garokan earlier in the season, but should Supervark win then he would only need to equal Garokan's total to win automatic promotion as he managed to beat Garokan. Supervark's current target is 13 points from 4 matches. In Division E DanZanzibar (Arab City) has devastated all opposition to win automatic promotion. He currently leads the division by a massive 18 points! Aetius39 (Palmyran) looks favourite to finish second with late reserve Captainwaltersavage (Roman) already suggesting that he is capable of a top half finish. At the bottom gamercb (Lombard) is 2 points ahead of bottom-placed Tratmot (Roman) with both players having just 2 matches left. In Division F the withdrawal of hyme (Alan) this week means that Warg1 (Arab City) has won automatic promotion ahead of Thunderbird (Roman) and random27 (Slav).
