Swift Berber cavalry crushed the German flanks and looked to be grabbing a quick win but the dismounted knights and wagons reached the spears and archers in the centre and pointedly explained that it wouldn't be so easy while the remaining German spearmen stopped any dreams of a cavalry sweep. Many of the knights and Wagons were still holding in a circle at battles end as their support crossbows were worn down by repeated light cavalry charges, thanks for a tense brutal game, a well deserved point.

Well that was a very messy battle. After my defeat by BobGanoush in very short order in the first match I was much more reticent in this one and tried to manoeuvre my cavalry onto a flank. Decided that was not going to work and then they went on a magical mystery tour of the battlefield. The light cavalry was decisive in this battle managing to fend off the enemy light archers and then getting into the rear of the Zhou lines. Some very useful charges helped break up some reserve units and their archery also broke down some conscripts hiding at the back. Other than that it was a very messy battle both front lines were shattered to pieces and units broke left right and centre. I got the best of the luck in this one and avoided too many terrible mistakes. A very hard fought battle. Initially I was very disappointed in the performance of my troops but I'm starting to see the joy in these armies. They are very delicate things but used correctly they can create very complex swirling melees as units unexpectedly hold, or three units collapse at once. Its very cinematic and utterly terrifying at the same time.

Swuul (British with Vikings) beat FireknightBarcelona (Byzantine) 60-44

A hard fought battle which saw two british generals die in melee and some byzantine massed archers pushing back in melee british heavy spearmen not once or twice but three times in row Blood was running all over the battle-field and the byzantines took a lead during mid-game. But the british right flank held together in some shape until finally the Berserkers and Brythonic foot broke through on left, which resulted in the byzantine lines collapsing as their center got flanked.
