Re: TDC VI Bronze and Iron Age - Results
Div A,
Rafydedel Mycanean 1250 BC defeats Aetius39 Philistin 1161 bc + neo hittites allies 58-33
The Philistin front line was impressive with all possible superior infantries, but, despite losses, somehow Mycanean heavy spearmen managed to hold them long enough for the Mycanean wings to outnumber and flank the rest of the line.
Thanks Aetius for a good melee
This is my last game, thanks to all and to organizers in particular.

GG, tough battle on hilly terrain and the Sumerian HI barely lasted long enough.

Division 2
principesromanes (Cimmerian 750-600 BC with Mannaean 750-610 BC allies) defeats phlewis (Sea Peoples 1208-1176 BC) 47-20
The armies met on a battlefield with a few rough patches and gentle hills, with some mountains, marsh and forest in the corners limiting the horse archers’ maneuverability.
The Cimmerian horse archers tried to get around the flanks of the Sea Peoples’ infantry, with only limited success early on. Once the Sea Peoples infantry charged the two units of heavy chariots though, it tied the infantry down in combat and reduced the number of ZOCs it created, allowing the Cimmerian cavalry to exploit the flanks for the win.
Thanks for the game!

Division 2
prcinicpesromanes (Sicilian 1194-1199 AD) defeats frederic02 (Berberes Almohades) 1121-1269 AD 62-53
Despite bringing more missile troops to the battle, the Sicilians were worried when the Berbers were able to successfully occupy a gentle rise in the centre of the battlefield. The Sicillian forces nonetheless probed for a weakness, but were far from confident they could find one. The left flank, however, was ultimately won in large part due to the abundance of Sicilian light horse. In the centre, things were starting to go badly for the Sicilians, who really had no answer to the Muslim spearmen. However, the victorious light horse was able to swoop in for a few well placed rear charges. And to the Sicilians great surprise, a unit of knights managed to defeat two units of camel lancers. While the Sicilian right flank crumbled, it managed to hold out long enough to distract a large number of Muslim spearmen from the main battle.
A very interesting battle overall that highlighted the power of light horse and, to a lesser degree, light foot. Well played and a very close battle with momentum swinging back and forth.

Nosferatu (Carthagian) defeats Najanaja (Selucid) 31:59
A mountain protected one flank of the Selucid army, with a patch of marsh on the other to limit flanking attempts. The Selucid took best possible defensive formations with heavy cavarly holding the flank and the pikes set to massacre the Carthagians, but as the melee got underway, the pike line was broken at several spots, allowing the Carthagians to pour through and surround the infantry, cutting them to pieces.
