Congratulations to SpeedyCM, using the Achaemenid Persians 545-481BC, who has won a very tight contest in Division D of Classical Antiquity. SpeedyCM won 7 of his 9 matches to score 28 points, and although Morbio can equal that points tally if he wins his last match (against MikeMUC), he will come second as SpeedyCM triumphed in the match between them. cromlechi and Hendricus were only just behind SpeedyCM with 6 wins and 24 points each.

Weekly round-up

klayeckles (Indians) continued to close the gap on rbodleyscott (Carthaginians) in Division A this week and is now only 1 point behind with a game in hand. These two players are certain to finish first and second now as the third place player, ianiow (Gallics) has completed his fixtures. The relegation battle is between Valdavia (Macedonians) and edb1815 (Antigonids) at the moment. There is a similar situation in Division B where shadowblack (Ptolemaics) is being pursued by Dortmund (Indo-Greeks) but no-one else now is in a position to challenge for promotion. Ironclad (Carthaginians, Hannibal in Italy) has a firm grip on Division C after Cunningcairn (Seleucids) drew his most recent fixture with Peterabb (Pyrrhics), who along with majandro (Galatians) is fighting hard against relegation. Division D is nearly finished after the withdrawal of Conaire (Graeco-Bactrians) this week. Morbio (Carthaginians, Hannibal in Africa), who had joined as a reserve, has rattled through his matches very quickly and has 6 wins from 8 but this will not be enough to overtake SpeedyCM (Achaemenid Persians) who has won promotion from this division. pbuck777 (Indians) is top of Division E with 8 wins from 8 with dkalenda (Romans) in second place.

rexhurley (Indo-Greeks) has won Division A with an excellent record of 8 wins from 9. ruskicanuk (Thracians) can secure second place if he beats hidde (Armenians Tigranes) in his last match. At the bottom of the table, hidde, Valdavia (Seleucids) and mhladnik (Romans) are looking for points to avoid relegation. In Division B Cunningcairn (Indians) needs a win in his last match against MikeC_81 (Seleucids) to win promotion. The only player who can catch him is Dortmund (Bosporans) who still has 3 matches left to play. Najanaja (Dacians) is firmly rooted to the bottom of the table with 6 defeats from 6 starts and now needs a miracle to avoid relegation. The eventual winner Of Division C will depend on the outcome of the match between nyczar (Scots-Irish) and Lognormus (Indians). nyczar has 8 wins from 8 while Lognormus has 5 wins from 6. In the big relegation battle this week Spectre195 (Armenian Tigranes) overcame Brenmusik (Slave Revolt). Brenmusik will be relegated. Division D is still very slow and is now behind schedule. Terribleangel registered a couple of wins and Conaire has withdrawn to be replaced by Jakdaw (Slave Revolt), The situation in Division E the situation remains unchanged as no results have been received this week.
