edb1815 - Breton 411-579 AD defeats Supervark - Sassanid Persian 477-590 AD with Hepthalite 350-570 AD allies 40%-12%
Well played by Supervark. Thanks for a fun game. This was a cagey affair that saw alot of maneuvering by the Persian horse to start the battle. Arrows started raining down as the Breton medium foot tried chasing away the horse archers. The Persian infantry stayed in reserve as the archers sought to soften up the Breton forces. There was a hilly area with some rough patches on the Breton right along with a wood. On the left a swampy area provided protection from the cavalry. These areas were the focal points for the Breton deployment with the lancers and noble cavalry trying to keep away from the elephants. Fortunately the elephants ended up being fairly well neutralized for most of the game with one being routed. Some Persian cavalry was pinned by Breton horse and then pounced on by multiple medium foot units. The Persian infantry then came up with an elephant in support. A Breton below ave heavy foot luckily held the elephants charge and the Breton lancers finished off the Persian foot archers to complete the victory. The Breton ability to field numerous medium light spear helped in this battle.
That's it for me in here this season. It was fun playing with my fourth choice army.
