Divison B
Blagrot Arab, City 300-633 AD with Sassanid Persian 591-628 AD drew with IMC Roman 24BC–196AD & Sarmatian 48% - 53% (IMC 5% ahead to be clear
)
A slow start with the Arabs massed horsemen attempting to flank wide to kill the Roman cavalry and draw off some of their foot. This removed the majority of both sides cavalry from the battlefield while one isolated legionary unit held off cataphracts, elephants and flanking horse archers for several turns until eventually collapsing to casualties. With Plan A having succeeded as brilliantly as most of my plans this season the massed foot advanced on the Roman centre, hoping for numbers to prevail and rushed the right in the hope of killing some disrupted archers. Plan B added greatly to both sides losses without bringing about a decisive result, thanks for a brilliant game and cheerful chat.

Division A
Aetius (Vikings) defeats snooky51 (Rus) 57-31
The Vikings got off to an early start, breaking the first few units that they came into contact with, but then the Rus evened it up a bit by focusing on the Vikings' weak right flank. Luckily a lot of the Rus units were shot with arrows to weaken them, and eventually overwhelmed, with enough units breaking to seal the win. GG!
Aetius - 86 points

Morat (Visigoths) beat IMC (Romans) 42-15
Visigoth horse carried the day - dispatching their Roman opponents while the warbands just held on against the fast arriving Roman foot.
Thanks to IMC for the game, which felt closer than the score suggests.

Vadim84 (Persia) won against MarcoCato75 (Byzantium) 61-45
A beautiful cavalry duel on a very flat ground. I love these battles, always a lot of fun. Elephants saved the day for Persia whereas Byzance had the upper hand in the first half of the fight.

Kroche (Teutonic Order 1226-1319AD w Polish Allies 1200-1319AD) defeated Ulysisgrunt (German South East 1200-1319AD w Polish allies 1200-1319AD) 47% loss to 60% loss.
A close fought match where the power of the German Knights defeated the Teutonic centre, but got held up long enough on their right flank by some crossbow and spearmen units in a small patch of rough ground. The Teutonic left was more numerous and able to swarm and break the German units there before the more successful part of their army could end their pursuit and reorganise. Thanks to Ulysisgrunt for a good game.

Division B
Kroche (Teutonic Order 1226-1319AD with Polish 1200-1319 AD ally) defeated DocVanNostrand (Bohemian 1200-1319AD)
49% loss to 64% loss
Teutonic Order occupied a medium hill on their left and could push some Baltic Infantry further forward into a large wood, their mounted force was set deep protecting the flank. The Bohemians slowly advanced to the hill with plenty of missile units and some dismounted knights while their mounted Knights took up on their left to face off against Teutonic mounted force.
The Bohemians attacked the hill with missile fire before advancing their Knights into combat. Teutonic crossbow and spearmen, aided by the hill, were fairly resolute in their defence but looked in danger of being outclassed. The cavalry battle was evenly matched, but some of the Teutonic Knights who had won their duel quickly threatened the Bohemian foot while the successful Bohemian mounted Knights engaged in a pursuit taking them a bit further away from the main clash.
Battle was in the balance, but shifted in favour of the Teutonic force when their Knights successfully charged an infantry unit and dented the confidence of the Bohemian line with a string of cohesion drops.
Thanks to DocVanNostrand for an exciting match which had quite a few turning points.

Division B
Kroche (Scots 1050-1154AD w Scots (Isles and Highlands) 1050-1319AD allies) 51% loss
defeated
random27 (Byzantine 1042-1071AD) 63% loss
Scottish forces suffered in the initial exchanges and most of their light forces were overpowered by a mass of Byzantine skirmishers. Middle phase saw the Scottish hold a disciplined line repelling multiple charges by Byzantine heavy horse and refusing to break under the rain of arrows. Scots Highlanders were able to reduce the numbers of opposing cavalry with their own missile fire.
When the heavy horse and Varangian guard started to dent the line the Scots were able to use numbers to defeat them.
Match really ended with both sides exhausted and seemingly unable to claim the field, but for the final loosing of arrows by some Highlanders breaking the resistance of a unit of mounted bowmen in the last action of the day.
GG to random27 for a tough and gruelling match through all 24 turns.

Division B
Kroche (Teutonic Order 1226-1319AD w Polish 1200-1319 AD ally) defeated Triarii (English 1155-1271AD w Welsh (North) 1100-1295 allies) 25% to 55%
Field of battle was narrowed by some mountainous terrain, Teutonic Order advanced and the English manoeuvred to meet them. Teutonic centre got the better of the English spearmen and archers and took an early lead. However the English Knights had displayed more patience and were overpowering the Teutonic left while also breaking through the weak Teutonic right and threatening to roll up both flanks and crash into the Teutonic centre.
During a couple of crucial turns the Teutonic units on the left held together under great pressure and the English attack on the right stalled through some very unexpected melee outcomes. Without some great luck in those turns it would likely have been an English victory. GG to Triarii

defeated
Aetius39 Irish 1050-1130 w/ Norwegian allies 66% loss
A really tense contest with the Irish winning on their right to claim a large hill. Both had committed large forces in the centre where the Irish advanced to occupy a wide, shallow hill. I think the threat of Scottish bow units forced the Irish centre to engage before their units on the hill could give aid. Scottish Knights were pushing forward with some spearmen on right flank, but their initial charges were not effective and the Scottish right started to collapse under superior numbers of Norwegian spears and a unit of Picked Irish foot.
Scottish centre was having some success against the Irish but the right flank was in mortal danger - then some desperate charges from the Knights started to cause the Irish to stop and think, giving the right a reprieve while the Scottish centre started to break the Irish there.
Battle was still in the balance with some late rallies and 1 unit of Knights being routed while the remaining 2 had taken in excess of 50% casualties. GG to Aetius39.

Blagrot- Danish 1200-1319 AD with Baltic Tribes 1050-1283 AD ally beat Lunecastle - Castilian/Leonese 1200-1319 with Aragonese 1200-1274 ally 60% - 38%
Both armies started by sneaking towards a low hill on the left with the Spanish lights getting there first but being mostly chased off by the Danish troops, both sides then clashed on the lower slopes with the other wings of their armies clashing in a meeting engagement as they moved. The Spanish knights were devastating but slowly fell to flank attacks from anything I had handy (including crossbowmen) and the ability to charge freely gave the offensive Danish spears the advantage over their defensive counterparts in the wider battle allowing attacks on the crossbowmen to push up the rout percentage, both armies had a lot of units ontheir last legs. Thanks for the game.
