Re. the latest New Britain '43. Is there a reason why the Allied airforce stays at reduced efficiency?

My life is hard enough, what with minefields and MG nests on ports .. and now all my destroyers (down south) have gone. I knew it was mentioned, but how about a few at a time? The supply ships disappearing as well, has sent me right up "Sh*t Creek"

I may have forgot to check the 'air units have off-map supply'...Brenmusik wrote:Re. the latest New Britain '43. The supply ships should stay put unless your cunning opponent sunk them...

You need to make do with the PT boats (may increase the total) and the Aussie ships.
I'll check the scenario adn update a new version if I find anything iffy.
Edit: updated new version.
Joe, you do know that you get a brand new Casablanca escort carrier with a fighter and a bomber unit attached at no cost?
They should spawn at Gloucester when you've captured both objectives here and at Arawe.
New Britain updated to v6.1
Fixed Allied air supply.

Re: Erik's Multiplayer Scenarios
Pleased to hear the airforce will fight better - they were having a hard time trying to shoot down the seaplane,
no chance taking on the Zeros, my ships were hammered, lost close on 30 land CPs before they got ashore.
The carrier and aeroplanes arrived, right after the second airfield was secured. It may not be secure for long!
I hope the extra 10 turns will help me recover.

Santa Cruz 1942 updated to v6.6
Japanese invasion force and Guadalcanal defenders are no non-core.
Fixed carrier Junyo's air units.
Primary objectives 'destroy x carriers' changed to secondary objectives.

Re: Erik's Multiplayer Scenarios
Erik you are a great guy but your scenarios are always lopsided. I keep asking you to design one that is fun to play, not historically accurate. The hell with history. This isn't a college course, lets have some fun with a perfectly balanced scenario.
I know how I would answer this if I were you. I'd say, "Make your own scenarios." I tried but the editor was designed by a lunatic and it is totally incomprehensible to non-geek humans, unless I want to spend my remaining time on earth trying to figure it out.

Re: Erik's Multiplayer Scenarios
I have played Erik in a number of these scenarios. As we play them he works hard to bring a little balance to them. Check the updated scenarios he has thus far worked on!

Re: Erik's Multiplayer Scenarios
The only perfectly balanced scenario is a Blitz-type scenario (old board-game) with symmetrical map and the exact same units for both sides deployed in symmetrical locations.

Re: Erik's Multiplayer Scenarios
Heh, now I see what you guys were talking about in that other thread (Wake Island). I assume there are no patents pending on these scenarios? Because, I may decide to download one or two of them and see if I can turn them into single-player versions once I have my head wrapped around the scenario editor.

Be my guest. There are too few single player scenarios currently.bru888 wrote:Heh, now I see what you guys were talking about in that other thread (Wake Island). I did have plans to convert my multiplayers, but I always seem to create a new scenario instead...
Re: Erik's Multiplayer Scenarios
Having a problem with Midway 6.6. It seems to get locked in the scenario loading -- various tips appear and cycle through, but the scenario never loads. I have tried latest versions of two other of your multiplayer scenarios and had no problem. Any ideas?
Re: Erik's Multiplayer Scenarios
I have noticed that a few custom scenarios refuse to load in v2.2.5, Midway is one of them.Chodan wrote:Having a problem with Midway 6.6. I have another of my custom scenarios loading on a Win10-PC, but not on a Win7-PC.
Also there appears to be a general problem with 2v2 multiplayer games, even the official ones.
Midway 1942 updated to v6.7
Removed ships' float planes to increase FOW.
Flying boats are now core units.
Changed the objectives, should make it a bit easier for the Japanese. They still need to capture Midway though.
