Looking For Allied Commanders to invade Panzer Corps!

Re: Looking For Allied Commanders to invade Panzer Corps!
The plan is to make a separate GB Africa campaign and a mixed core GB/US Europe campaign, with an option to progress your core from the first one to the second. Unlike AK, where many players refused to use italians, here combined GB/US core should provide for some interesting strategic choices - how many and what types of units to buy for each nation.
I don't remember how large the maps were in AG, but after 2 years and 200 scenarios designed we still believe in mid-sized maps and cores in this game. Stronger strategic aspect on big maps does not really justify the explosion of micromanagement needed to bring more units across more hexes.

Allied Corps is great news. I hope that there will be options to play as either the US or British and with this the ability to have Commonwealth troops as part of the core force and not just infantry!

I saw the Mega Pack announcement. I must have missed the iPad version announcement. Was that on the boards here?Philkian wrote:After the recent announcement of the massive Mega Pack and the long anticipated iPad version.

This is wonderful news, Tim. Glad to see that PzC continues to evolve. Thank you so much for bringing back the joy of the original Panzer General... and improving it many times over!

Re: Looking For Allied Commanders to invade Panzer Corps!
I wonder how the difficulty level will be.
Allied General was harder than Panzer General in the first scenarios and then became rather easy, except for the Russians.
Panzer Corps: Wehrmacht -> Afrika Korps -> DLCs after 1942.
That's how I felt about the difficulty of the various campaigns. Now I wonder how easy/hard Allied Corps will be. There is a conflict between Panzer Corps Veterans and new players here who might start playing the series with Allied Corps. Because to be honest I think Afrika Korps is a little too difficult for beginners. (edit: I mean little literally - it's definitely not much too difficult, only a little.

This is very good news. I do hope experience mechanics get looked at sometime in the future. Especially in regards to low initiative units like infantry. This would be very cool. Best of luck with these endevours. We DO plan to tweak some gameplay mechanics, and WILL try to fix some problems in PzC gameplay. In particular, I plan to look at experience mechanics and prestige mechanics. But please don't expect miracles.
Re: Looking For Allied Commanders to invade Panzer Corps!
Dumb question but are we old Panzer beat testers automatically included? Although, I signed up anyway!!!

I can't wait for them to make PzC version of warhammer 40k.
Re: Looking For Allied Commanders to invade Panzer Corps!
Long, long ago there was a PzG version of Warhammer 40K, and it was really pretty cool. Same mechanics, but with 40K troops and abilities.sosbrigade wrote:I can't wait for them to make PzC version of warhammer 40k.
I liked it alot.

Good news! It will be interesting to play for the Allies. Do you plan to release Allied Commanders in Russian?
Re: Looking For Allied Commanders to invade Panzer Corps!
I almost overlooked this thread. But good news indeed, I loved Allied Gerneral, and judging from PzC's releases so far this will be even better

No. If i'm not mistaken, DLC betatesters need to re-apply for the Allied Corps betatest. Great that you signed upBlitz1945 wrote:Dumb question but are we old Panzer beat testers automatically included? Although, I signed up anyway!!!

Re: Looking For Allied Commanders to invade Panzer Corps!
To the PzCorps / Allied Corps Dev team:
As the plan in launching Allied Corps is to add (evolutionary, not revolutionary) improvements to game mechanics... Are we in time to add one (important) and another (may be not so important) traits in the equipment file? That is, from my point of view, of course...
I am thinking about a "fire then move" trait (as the important one) and its "reciprocal": "move then fire" (may be not so useful, but someone could find an interesting use for it). The first one would be useful to adress the "problem" of towed artillery moving one hex and then firing, extending in practical terms its range by one hex... I think only Self-propelled artillery should be able to do this, and towed artillery, because its longer deployment times, should only be able to fire and only then, if necessary, move somewhere else. If I remember well, the original Pz General had this "rule" for artillery which, for me, made a lot of sense (a means of put an accent on the advantages of self propelled against towed artillery units). As we add this "ability" by means of a trait, its an optional rule (we can use it if mod in the trait, or we can leave everything as it is now not adding it).
It could also address the "problem" of towed AT guns moving in to attack tanks (Do you imagine the gun crews pushing the guns, closing them to tanks in order to attack them, while tanks patiently wait without moving or firing them to shreds? No, the role of AT guns is to wait in ambush to fire the approaching tanks...)
I think it would be an improvement, with no "colateral damage" to the game mechanics, because it would be optional to use or not in game.
What do you people think? Would it be posible/desirable?
Thanks!!!

Re: Looking For Allied Commanders to invade Panzer Corps!
I don't see a problem with towed artillery moving one hex and then firing. That artillery can fire after moving was quite controversial but now after so many DLCs... I got used to it and see no need to change it. It worked out nicely.

Re: Looking For Allied Commanders to invade Panzer Corps!
Yes, because of that is that I suggest making the change adding a trait, you can use it if you like more "realism" and differentiation between SP and towed units, or if you dont see a problema, you can leave everithyng as it is. It is only about adding a new option, and not resting anything...
This is the advantge of this "trait" system you can assign to units...
So, if it is not a huge workload to game developers, may be they can add this new trait to the new Allied Corps (after all, with the new patch/campaign releases, they used to add some new traits, giving the game more options and flexibility). This particular one I think would not be very difficult to implement.

Re: Looking For Allied Commanders to invade Panzer Corps!
Any thoughts on when we may get it in beta??
Re: Looking For Allied Commanders to invade Panzer Corps!
Are you aware that by implementing your changes you are making two almost obsolete types even weaker. Towed artillery is already at disadvantage compared to self propelled variant and will lose even more. Towed AT guns are at the brink of uselessness and with your change there will be NO reason at all to even consider buying them.

OH MY GOD!!! PICK MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!
