I think velites are too expansive but they are puissant (euh .. not "puissant" but you see what i want to say :D )

Actually, the word "puissant" does exist in english, but it's very old and not used much anymore. It means "powerful, mighty, having authority".

But back on topic!

Somebody did a detailed analysis of Velites vs. Javelinmen vs. Skirmishers about a year ago, maybe longer. Hmmm.
