Re: Warfare theme 2018
Folks, it’s looking likely that the new book 3 will be out just before Warfare. So rather than mucking about we’re are going to use the following rules for army lists:
1. If your army is in the new book 1 or 2, please use that book. Given the medieval date of the competition, most (perhaps all?) will not be.
2. For armies that are not in the new book 1 or 2, use the old army lists.
3. When you submit your army list, please say which book it comes from
4. Many medieval armies in the old lists will have Pole Arm rather than Heavy Weapon in the new book 3. Therefore, if your army is in the old books, the following rules apply:
5. You MUST take troops listed as Heavy Weapon as Pole Arm in the following circumstances:
a. If the TROOP NAME column in the lists has the troops as being dismounted knights, men at arms, anti-cavalry squads, billmen, halberdiers, Polearms, Voulgiers or landsknecht and the close combat capability is listed as Heavy Weapon.
b. Knights which would dismount as heavy weapon instead dismount as Pole Arm.
c. If you select a Later Medieval Danish, Later Medieval Swedish, Japanese, Jin or Korean army all troops listed as Heavy Weapon must be taken as Pole Arm.
6. Later Low Countries Plancon wielders and Chinese spear and dao troops who are listed as Heavy Weapon may either ALL remain Heavy Weapon or ALL be taken as Pole Arm

Found it - 26th October - Tim Child. What's the deadline for lists and who is the list checker?

Website says we're back to 25-0?

Re: Warfare theme 2018
Just to confirm, we will not be using the new book 3 for Warfare. I understand Caliver are now able to take orders for it but it's too late in the day to expect everyone to have ordered, received, designed an army and got it to Tim for checking by Friday week.

Re: Warfare theme 2018
Hi all, sorry for delay getting back to you all on teh issue of scoring. We are using 35-0, not 25-0. That's what happens when you don't keep up with all the changes for all the rule systems...
Also for all your information, I have now heard that we have been able to arrange that parking this year will be free for all competitors. However, you will need to log in with your vehicle details at the front desk, or you will get ticketed. Please remember, as ticket companies have a pretty strong reputation for being "jobsworth" about that sort of detail!
However, the car parks are no bigger than usual, so we strongly suggest that you do car-share wherever possible, as otherwise you may find that you can't find anywhere to park in the free car parks!
Finally, thanks to everyone who has sent their lists in. I now have all but 1 - you know who you are.

Re: Warfare theme 2018
All missing lists in, checked and approved. Do you want the R&R, or just the names and I will let you guess the armies?
The riders are:
1 Steve Murton Reigate
2 Graham Briggs Reigate
3 Terry Shaw Reigate
4 Chris Tofalos MAWS
5 David Fairhurst Oxford
6 Lynda Fairhurst Oxford
7 Steven Brown Plymouth
8 Dave Ruddock MAWS
9 Peter Dalby Solent
10 Ian Carbutt Solent
11 Martyn Simpson Wessex
12 David Fairbrother Solent
13 David Bannister Wessex
14 Jonathan Akers No club
15 Paul Westmore No club
16 David Putt Plymouth
17 Peter Card Oxford
18 Paul Bartlett Plymouth
19 Graham Evans Pinner
20 John Patrick Gloucester
21 Dave Morrison Gloucester
22 Phil Powell MAWS
Hint re the armies - calling the theme "1066 and all that" may have been ambitious! 18 out of the 22 are 15th century...
