Re: Battlefield: Europe MOD v2.0
ok. i thought a plane adjacent to the carrier will do.
over two-three turns this will end up costing me 3 fighters or more. shit.

Re: Battlefield: Europe MOD v2.0
This gives me an idea for a work-around to allow carriers to supply more than 1 plane/turn. Give carriers the reconmove trait. At the start of a turn, with several planes around the carrier, the carrier can move under each plane; select the plane over the carrier and press 'S' for supply; move the carrier to the next plane and repeat the process.PeteMitchell wrote: ↑Tue Jul 28, 2020 9:52 pm Slightly different but possible... you can replace losses (i.e. buy reinforcements) for one plane... and then move the carrier below another plane which will then refuel at the end of the turn... (while the planes always need to be on the same hex as the carrier of course)
Even with the vanilla movement of 5, you should be able to fuel up to 3 planes per turn. Or up to 4 if an empty plane starts the turn over the carrier.

Re: Battlefield: Europe MOD v2.0
Yes, it could be done like that, but actually I kinda like the current limited usefullness of the carriers. After all the British carriers featured in the mod could only carry 40-60 aircraft and one air unit in the mod reresents about 100-125 aircraft or a group (British) so they should not be able to supply more than one air unit normally. Even if we assume that each carrier unit represents two actual aircraft carriers. And the planned German carrier 'Graf Zeppelin' had a similar proposed aircraft complent (42).cw58 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 29, 2020 10:35 pm This gives me an idea for a work-around to allow carriers to supply more than 1 plane/turn. Re: Battlefield: Europe MOD v2.0
I didn't really intend that you should adjust your mod but had the idea after reading a post in your thread and replied to that. Considering the scale of your mod, I would tend to agree with you.
I thought I would throw the idea out there because several people have expressed dissatisfaction with this limitation of the game engine. It might be more appropriate for other mods, such as the PAK mod, and it is a very easy fix.
While I'm here, let me say thank you for all your hard work on this mod. It is much appreciated.

Dear all,
I have just finished a game with Maths... Me Axis, him playing as allies. I managed to defeat the USSR and take all other hexes on the mainland (and Africa, the middle east) but Maths managed to defend Britain from my botched sealion attempts. Does that count as a victory for me? I assume it does, but I wanted to make sure, so I am asking here.
Best,
Alex

Re: Battlefield: Europe MOD v2.0
Congrats! Yes it is certainly an Axis victory, unless the Allies somehow manage to capture and hold at least one victory objective city in Germany in which case it is a draw. But after the end of the 99th turn if you click "end turn" you should see either "Axis victory" or "Allied victory" to make things a bit easier.alexfilip wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 3:02 pm Dear all,

Re: Battlefield: Europe MOD v2.0
We stopped at turn 88. I had no way of taking Britain, and he couldn't get anywhere close to the European mainland, so we decided it was pointless to continue.
Shall I update the table, or can you do it?
Cheers

I think I have done it successfully.

Started a game with Spiffing Brit. Me as Axis and him as the Allies. I'll let you know who comes out on top!
Re: Battlefield: Europe MOD v2.0
Great! What version are you playing, BE 2.0 or 2.15? And are you playing on the Slitherine server or by sending game saves by e-mails?

Have a great fight!

Do you use any house rules?
Re: Battlefield: Europe MOD v2.0
2.15 over the Slitherine server.
None. I haven't played Battlefield Europe since like 1.X so I wouldn't know what would be good.
