I don't want anything that takes months to play. I'd really prefer a tcpip game vs PBEM as well. I want something we can finish in a play session not take forever to play. This was one reason I quit playing multiplayer because all the games that were coming out were long session games. Is Battle Academy or Battle Academy II tcpic multiplayer? Or is it PBEM only?

If you're interested send me a pm and suggest a game if I am interested I will get back to you asap. Remember keep it short and sweet like Empire was back in the 80's. Greatest game ever made I think. Strong ai and simple and easy to learn and you could make small maps and play against 5 expert ai's. That's what we need again today.

Hello Igorputski,

We find PBEM to be useful, as it allows you to play a game when you have time. However if both players are on the PBEM system at the same time, then you can refresh the multiplayer page and play quickly anyway, but due to the length of turns in most of our games and life getting in the way, then PBEM is a good way of doing this.

I don't mind multiplayer, but find that I play games quite erratically, so rarely bother with Mutliplayer as it needs a commitment to play the game.

Single player mainly, but like to use "hot seat" for trying stuff out.

Hot seat is great for modders, definitely.

I play a very small amount of MP, but SP will always be more fun!

Mainly Singleplayer for me. Mainly because it's difficult to find opponents of the same level for a specific game and because it's difficult to find opponents at the same time I like to play.
Would love to use Multiplayer to learn to play some games, but requests I make for this on Steam forums mostly left unanswered.

Maybe you are trying the wrong game. ;)

Always room for more on Panzer Corps, and I love to teach.

Interesting

As for me until I found Panzer Corps I had little to no interest in competitiveness of games, having only played it a few other times for StarCraft 1 and 2.

I still like single player mode, but have found Panzer Corps to be so much fun playing other skilled players.

I am at 361 wins now 84 losses ;)

I used to play exclusively Single player with wargame/ strategy games (I used to play a lot of multiplayer few years back in games like Mount & blade and total war), with slitherine/ matrix games I was skeptical to play multiplayer as I was not sure that the PBEM system will be enjoyable.
But a week ago I gave it a try, and boy... that was the most wonderful experience ever, games like P&S, S:J, GG WITE, DC:B and Flashpoint campaign became my best games ever, the experience and reputability increased tremendously.
The thing is the new system of Slitherine server based PBEM suites my lifestyle perfectly, as I dont have much time, and live in a place where the timing is not suitable to play against Europeans and Americans players.
Everyone who didn't try should give it ago, it really makes Slitherine games shine with its full gaming experience potential.
Thank you Slitherine for such amazing system and please keep on improving it and add it to the older games as well, especially AGEOD ones.

Regards

New Milestone just tonight
400 wins 95 losses 1 draw

Such a great game this Panzer Corps is.

I hope everyone is doing well in the Slitherine Round 2 Tournament.

My opponent and I are having trouble getting going and I have only played my first day as of tonight, anxiously waiting his counterattack.

I am starting to lose to Braccada more often than I care to admit then there was loss 99 which was the tournament loss.

Overall still have a strong winning percentage. ;)

A poll was done many years ago and it would seem it hasn't changed that much since then. Basically since computers have been available only 2% of gamers want to play multiplayer. The computer was the answer to get away from multiplayer and itis a ready opponent all the time, no waiting.

Multiplayer activist though want to insist all games need to have multiplayer. A relatively small community of gamers for all games except some MOBA's on Steam.

Multiplayer will never be as popular as single solo play I'm happy to say. Futhermore I'd like to see many games not have it at all as it takes away resources for the single solo player games. Think how much better AI's could be if they put those resources they waste on multiplayer into it.

I agree that most people buy and play games for their single player content, but to say the following:

I think is a bit of a stretch. It is the mp content that can keep interest in a game long after it's initial release. Look at the way the original StarCraft multiplayer content even created a show for gamers in South Korea.

I am very pleased that Slitherine continues it's commitment to it's multiplayer community and continues to do great things for it's fans like me.

Quick Update on my stats as we are just starting multiplayer tournament 2018...and I am about to pass 3000 Steam hours on Panzer Corps...
I have over 600 wins and over 150 losses and still that single draw game from Soviet Corps map.

If you have not tried multiplayer on your favorite game, I submit to you that you are not fully enjoying your favorite game.
