Panzer Corps 2 - World Championship - Round 4 Update

Post by Edmon »

The Panzer Corps 2 - World Championship moves into the forth round today. Kleko11 remains steadfastly at the top, but there has been considerable movement below his position. Can PlannedParenthood conceive of a path to victory over Kelko11's remarkable hold of the top spot?

Round 3 leader board:
1) kleko11 9152
2) PlannedParenthood 8150
3) a432 7713
4) Trepko 7386
5) Dardalon 7359

Round four sees us battling in the Ardennes. The famous operation that took place here, used late war equipment combined with blitzkrieg tactics. The unusual weather conditions (for Western Front) gave Germany ample scope for a last-ditch tank offensive. The hope was to regain momentum and control of the war...

After Moscow, it would be logical to continue in 1942
Already battle for Moscow skipped the order.

El Alamein (the second battle, where Rommel was beaten) 1942.
Start of siege of Moscow happened in late 1941.

The selection criteria was fairly clear after 3 rounds, I expected Ardennes or Escape from Stalingrad.

I would like to underline the evolution of the briefing, more complete and with more information on the mechanics of the game and also the possibility of buying already experienced units. Taking into account of error on the last 3 rounds, well done, thank for the job.

Vs were not tactical weapons.

However I am puzzled why allies have more core slots, how is Germany supposed to win like this?

They are not supposed to win.
But they still can.

Won both sides early

Got cheated on the points again by the scoring system

Apparently the scoring is messed up again

It is easy. Look at Adell77 points as defender: 1272, enemy only 101, but only for victory hexes can be obtained 1350, and where points for victory (500), and for enemy losses?

Something is wrong, but for this tournament it is normal...

My opponent played very wall in round 4 and deserved to win both games. As a new player the scenario description was a bit inadequate - for a tournament you need to be more clear about the weather odds, and probably you need to make them consistent for both games as well. Along those lines, it's also a serious handicap to the newer player if you have the starting Prestige amount extremely high. What you get when you set up a scenario like that is a test of who has more game experience in purchasing starting units, and the actual playing out of the 15 turns an academic after thought really. When it's over after turn 1.. it's really not a lot of fun to play out the string.

If there is any adjustments that can be made in future, please limit the amount of Setup Prestige and/or Setup flexibility, and this will make the game more enjoyable for the new players, so they can compete a bit better. And if possible please limit the effects of random events like Weather odds, or make them consistent or list the Actual % odds of certain weather results, it you must have it be random.

Just a thought!. Depending on what the Scenario's requirements are to make it functional/workable... say... perhaps... incrementally allocate the prestige... turn by turn... or in set or flexible amounts [… where the Player... to some degree has control of how much Prestige to acquire from his set-pool of prestige... turn by turn]... so that the 'New-Player' has more time to react to the conditions at hand or changing conditions... and will then be better able to respond to these everchanging conditions... with purchases of various troops and equipment to deal with the current-threats at hand.

To simplify the above statement... I will use... 'Newtons Third Law Of Physics':
~~~For every action... there is an opposite... and equal reaction.~~~
